For one Georgia family, Thanksgiving 2016 looms ominously. After their last Thanksgiving together, surviving this one may well depend on a force beyond their control.

Travel back to 1958 with an angel on a mission to a Christmas Past, as we're shown a heart-rending story of a destitute family who happiness and Christmas had all but passed over. Do the impoverished deserve kindness, generosity, or love? Striving to survive life's frigid and bitter winds, a jilted mother and her four, young children will be tested like never before. Despite the crushing odds, will one boy's prayers be answered? Only time and an angel's story will tell.

At dusk, three, loud knocks at her front door scared the young, grief-stricken mother of four - the tale begins on Halloween's eve, continuing - Huddling around her in front of a solitary space heater, Ann's three children jumped, startling her even more. For a brief second, they shivered, fearing it was death itself that had come knocking.

Poetry commands the singular ability to lay one prostrate and bare before the reader, giving safe refuge to words and thoughts of depth excavated from crevices yet explored deep within the poet. I find no other form of communication to be so utterly and beautifully invasive.

Southern Brewed Poetry is Georgia author Ron Shaw's third publication of poems. The listener will find them to be unique, at times, quite literary, thought-provoking, and intriguing. As the title indicates, the author has tapped into his southern roots to brew an eclectic mixture of marvelous poetry certain to capture the imagination, whimsy, heart, and soul of the listener.

After publishing 12 works from deep within me, the innate urge to express myself in an entirely different manner overtook me. As far back as I can remember, reading poetry has always been a passion. It may well have been one of the key factors in choosing English Literature as my college major. This collection is the result of exposing my soul and heart in a way I'd never dreamed of doing. While my other works in publication are integral parts of me, I now understand that poetry is the essence of who I was, am, and forever will be.

Something deadly sinister is roaming the mountains of Southern Tennessee and Northern Georgia. A ravenous beast with a thirst for blood and carnage has law enforcement in two states baffled. From Native American Cherokee mythology, the beast has been named Uya, a malevolent evil spirit of the night. The rancorous creature has so far outwitted the best the law has to offer, and now the stakes have been raised, as farm animals no longer satisfy Uya's hunger.
