Story
"Some people think I was born to kill other people, like it was bred into me, like I had been born with some kind of 'killer gene' in my blood. That's a bunch of bulls--t, though. Those head-shrinkers, they don't know the half of it. I just like killing other people, really, always have." So says the Valentine Killer, speaking of his past - and future.

Story
Charles Manson was known as prophet, a singer, a messiah - and then a mass murderer. But what the public didn't know was that behind the façade he so cleverly conveyed to his followers - and victims - was a little boy in a man's body, one who had never known a loving touch or a sincere hug or a tender kiss. Abused as a child, Charlie was passed around by his mother's boyfriends, who performed licentious acts upon him to further his education in the cold, cruel ways of the world that awaited him in manhood.

Story
Unlike his cohort in crime, Henry Lee Lucas, Ottis Elwood Toole didn't make a habit of lying about this crimes - unless, of course, it was to save his own skin. More often than not, if he told you he had just killed someone in some unspeakable, horrific way, you could just about bank on the fact he was telling the truth. Then again, what would you expect from a self-admitted killer, grave robber, transvestite, arsonist, and cannibal?

When Rob and Charlene Spierer dropped their daughter, Lauren, off at Indiana University in 2009, they felt she was in a safe place and had nothing at all to worry about. But what they didn't know was Bloomington had its dark side, an underground culture of booze and drugs and a totally carefree and careless lifestyle - of which, unknown to them, Lauren had become a part. But...was it true? Had she really become involved in this culture, or was it all simply rumors started by someone who was wanting to cover up the real truth?

Over a century before the public coined the term "serial killer" to describe prolific killer Ted Bundy, there were serial killers who made Bundy seem mild in comparison. In Infamous Killers from the Past, author Brian lee Tucker has assembled 15 profiles of some of the most prolific and vicious killers that ever lived - and were killing long before the term "serial killer" existed.

Story
Her story was like so many other's; a small-town girl buys a bus ticket to the big city to become a famous movie star. Instead of a film producer with a contract and an endless budget, she instead found a shiftless con artist who intended to make her the next big star of low budget, indie horror - and softcore porn. What she woke up to every day was a life of loneliness, alcohol, and drugs.

Story
Katie Elder was more, much more, than the title character in John Wayne's 1965 western,The Sons of Katie Elder. She was more than the portrayal by Faye Dunaway in the 1971 film, Doc." Katie Elder was a real person, whose background was perhaps more plaid than checkered. Some historians of the Old West believe she was Mrs. Doc Holliday, and some don't. Either way, she was quite a bit more than the "plainswoman" that revisionist history books call her.

Story
In The Dead Girls, author Brian Lee Tucker examines the lives of six different women who, having lived on the streets for far too long, have now been pushed over the edge of sanity - and have finally become what they themselves had always feared the most. Among them is Donna, the fledgling serial killer who, born with a facial deformity that made her a social outcast, now peels the faces off of beautiful girls to wear as her own; and Gina, a barfly whose tendency to be promiscuous has led her into the lair of a murderous Picasso....

Story
"She was a beautiful little imp; slender, blonde haired, blue-eyed and wearing a pair of cutoff jeans, a tube top, and open toed sandals..." So begins the most recent novel by Derrick Cutter, a novelist who, haunted by his own inner demons as a teenager, met and ran away with the girl of his dreams. Little did he know that he would soon be thrust into a world even darker than his own, filled with ritual abuse and murder, the aftermath of which may ironically prove to be good fodder for his best novel yet.

He loved the dead. His favorite song was “I Love the Dead” by rock singer Alice Cooper, and he listened to it every time he got a chance. The strange thing about his mother was, he still loved her - in his own special way. He hated her and loved her and loathed her and then missed her. Fantasized about her. Yes...he loved the dead.

Story
Other than rape or pedophilia, I can't think of a worse crime than patricide. The killing of one's own father or mother, the two people who gave you life and love and nurtured you and took care of you is, to me, an unforgivable crime. For example, the case of Jeremy L. Vennard, who, on August 8, 2001, killed his own father and stepmother in cold blood - and for no real apparent reason. There had been no history of abuse at the hands of his father or stepmother. No history of any reason whatsoever why he would have felt compelled to murder them.

Hollywood has romanticized genius serial killers for a long time now, whether it be a suave, charming killer or a sly and informed yet absolutely evil murderer who knows how to fool police. There have been documentaries focusing solely on the most intelligent serial killers. But in real life, most serial killers are far from genius. An awful lot of them are just plain dumb.

Ottis Toole, born at the bottom of the gene pool, retarded and illiterate, had been out of control since early childhood. A severely drug-dependent individual as well as an arsonist, murderer, rapist, and cannibal, he was unsafe under any conditions outside of a secure prison, and perhaps unsafe there. To him, life itself was so unmeaning, and the distinction between living and dead people so blurred, that killing another human being was no more than swatting an annoying fly.

Story
An in-depth look into the mind of Henry Lee Lucas, as he sits on death row, just weeks before his death, reflecting back on his life and the reasons for his crimes. Henry is, indeed, almost an anomaly in a genre full of faceless, cardboard killers. Henry is no Jason, Michael, or Freddy. He's real. That's the most frightening aspect of the film; Henry could be the guy next door, at times wearing an almost pleasant, trusting expression.
