Osho introduces the wild, dancing, sane-crazy world of the Bauls, the mystics of Bengal. With understanding, love, humor, and a touching clarity, he guides us through the songs of the Baul mystics, explaining their view of sex, their concept of the body as a temple, and their secret of surrender to the existential beloved.

These discourses contain what Osho describes as the most significant statements ever made, which point to the whole secret of the mystic approach toward life. And the sutra that begins this series of discourses, he says, contains the very essence of the entire Upanishadic vision - that the universe is an indivisible totality, an organic whole. The organized religions have exploited humanity’s insecurity in the face of life’s mysteries by providing readymade sets of beliefs. Maine Ram Ratan Dhan Payo: Aao prem ki ek jheel mein nauka-vihaar karein. Aur aisi jheel manushya ke itihaas mein doosri nahi hai, aisi jheel Meera hai. Mansarovar bhi utna swacha nahin. Aur hanson ki hi gati ho sakegi Meera ki is jheel mein. Hans bano, to hi utar sakoge is jheel mein. Hans na bane to na utar paooge. Meera ki is jheel mein tumhein nimantran deta hoon. Meera naav ban sakti hai. Meera ke shabd tumhe doobne se bachaa sakte hain. Unke sahare par us paar ja sakte ho.

The Sutra of Forty-Two Chapters is a succinct summary doctrine by which Buddhism was introduced to China. Each of the 42 sutras begins with "the Buddha said" This particular sutra deals with The 20 Difficult Things to Accomplish in this World and Osho takes us through each verse, and dissects it line by line, never omitting to explain - in clear modern terms - the real meaning of the verses.

In alternating chapters Osho comments on specific sutras of Buddha and responds to questions from his audience, deepening the understanding of these timeless works. "My talking on Buddha is not just a commentary: It is creating a bridge. Buddha is one of the most important masters who has ever existed on the Earth - incomparable, unique."

Vipassana sabse kimti dhyan hai. Iski vidhi hai, sirph baithkar shvas ko dekhte rahna. Yah pranayam nahi hai, shvas ki naisargik gati ko sakshibhav se dekhna hi vipassana hai. Is tarh dekht-dekhte hi chitt ke sare rog tirohit ho jate hai, sharir se sambandh tut jata hai. Ise aharnish kahi bhi kiya ja sakta hai.

Osho responds here to a question relating to meditation, a space of "no-mind": "...meditation covers a very long pilgrimage. When I say 'meditation is witnessing', it is the beginning of meditation. And when I say 'meditation is no-mind', it is the completion of the pilgrimage. Witnessing is the beginning, and no-mind is the fulfillment. Witnessing is the method to reach the no-mind. Naturally you will feel witnessing is easier. It is close to you. But witnessing is only like seeds, and then is the long waiting period."
