• HOA Director Candidate Interview: John Dendy
    Nov 18 2021

This episode is an interview with John Dendy, one of the 4 candidates running for one of the 3 open seats on the Lyon’s Gate HOA Board of Directors. December 8th is the date of the annual HOA meeting and it’s at that meeting where the votes will be counted and the 3 new Board members will be selected. Homeowners should have received their absentee ballots via snail mail with voting instructions and a short bio of each candidate.

IMPORTANT: According to the Associations Bylaws, 10% of those eligible to vote constitutes a quorum in order for the meeting to be held. Therefore, 194 Homeowners (if all 1,936 members are in good standing) must be represented, in person or by absentee ballot, at this Annual Meeting in order for it to be officially recognized.

Here are the 5 questions posed to each candidate:

    1. How long have you lived in Lyon’s Gate?
    2. Why are you running for the Lyon’s Gate Board of Directors?
    3. What strengths do you possess that would contribute to the success of the Lyon’s Gate community?
    4. Do you currently volunteer in the community? If so, in what capacity?
    5. What’s important for others to know about you?

    1. The proposed zoning change of the undeveloped property adjacent to Lyon's Gate at the southwest corner of Ray Rd and Higley Rd. Residents can receive a link to that meeting by emailing vanessa.macdonald@pewandlake.com no later than 5:00 PM on the day of the meeting. We are also providing a link to the notification letter which contains more information as well as a preliminary conceptual drawing of the proposed 274 multi-family unit. You can view that letter [HERE].
    2. The annual Lyon's Gate HOA membership meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 8th at 7:00 PM. More details are in the podcast.
    3. The monthly Lyon's Gate HOA Board of Directors meeting is this Wednesday, October 20th, at 7:00 PM at the clubhouse and virtually. residents will be receiving login instructions for the virtual meeting. The proposed zoning change outlined above is on the agenda for this meeting.
