The New York Jets' 2022 NFL Draft class will go down as one of the greatest in franchise history. Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, Sauce Gardner, and Jermaine Johnson look like outstanding players. The 2023 NFL Draft class is off to a slower start. Joe Tippmann was on the only 2023 Jets rookie to see significant time. Year two will be a different story. The NFL has new kickoff rules this year. Teams are finding ways to prepare for them. The New York Jets made a signing with the rules in mind, Tarik Cohen. Cohen is a former All Pro return man. Now we must note that was six years ago. Cohen has suffered a number of serious injuries over the last few years and hasn't even played in an NFL game since 2020. Expectations should probably be kept in check, but there is nothing wrong with seeing what he can do.

The New York Jets are looking to do big things in the 2024 NFL season. That means they need big seasons from the biggest names on their roster. All of the stars on the team are important. However, some are more important than others. Sauce Gardner and Tyron Smith are top notch talents, but the Jets at least have quality players behind them. There are certain players who are completely essential. Believe it or not, a running back is on the list along with a pair of linemen.

There's no way around it. 2023 was a very disappointing season for the New York Jets. A lot of that had to do with Aaron Rodgers' injury. That in itself is a lesson. Luck plays a much bigger role in a team's fortunes than we want to admit. There's nothing the Jets can do about that, but there are other lessons the team can take from a year ago. Based on the offseason we have seen, some of the lessons have been learned while others have not.

The New York Jets have reached the OTA phase of their offseason program. While the results of these practices aren't all that important, the work in the offseason provides some reps for developing players and afford the team the opportunity to help foster chemistry between Aaron Rodgers and his group of wide receivers. It also allows the coaching staff to provide updates on relevant events such as the Jets' thinking on their bye week and a camp position battle.

The New York Jets had an active offseason as they try to build a winning team around Aaron Rodgers. After the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins lost key players, can we now call the Jets division favorites? It isn't quite that simple.
