Coming To Terms With Who You Were, What Happened to You, and What You Did. Codependency Courage.

  • Summary

  • In this episode, Ross Rosenberg, M.Ed., LCPC, CADC explains the importance for a person recovering from Self-Love Deficit Disorder/SLDD (codependency) to be honest to themselves about the harm they caused others, especially their children.

The person with SLDD—the SLD, is often unaware of their brick wall of denial that keeps them "safe" from the real and honest truth: if they were not so afraid of being alone or lonely, had better self-esteem, and loved themselves more, they would have stuck up for themselves, set better boundaries, and protected their children better from their narcissistic partner's harm. The very best way to break through the SLD's denial systems, is to facilitate their awareness of being sacrificed by their own SLD parent, for very same reasons they have sacrificed their own children.
