  • Stop projecting onto your kids
    Apr 29 2024

If you've ever found yourself frustrated with your kids, I promise you, I can relate!

In today’s episode, I dive into something that's been on my mind lately: projecting our own stuff onto our kids.

I’ve had my moments in the past of pushing them hard or trying to get them to show up for themselves the way I want them to.

What I realized was it was a lot of my own insecurities causing me to show up that way. I was just projecting it onto my kids because I wanted them to do better because I wasn’t doing it for myself.

    Make sense?

If you’ve ever found yourself trying to get your kids to eat healthier or hit the gym, but you aren’t doing that for yourself even though you wish you were… do you really think your kid is going to want to?

Nope! You haven’t given them a reason to internally motivate themselves and want it + as parents, we are the example.

So let’s create a new vibe and choose how YOU want to show up for you and lead by example.

I’m talking all about it today so go listen + I’d love to hear what you think!

  • Recognizing healed parts of you
    Apr 26 2024

Just like many of you, my childhood was tough. There was neglect and abuse, both emotionally and physically.

I’m not placing blame or any anger because those experiences shaped me into who I became.

As kids, we learn how to survive based on our experiences. We learn survival skills that follow us into adulthood where a lot of the time, they no longer serve us. This is where a lot of our healing begins.

The most amazing thing is, when you start to recognize the parts of you that are healing. Maybe you don’t respond the same way you once did to certain things. A lot of the triggers begin to fall away and you truly find more peace + safety within yourself.

This is what I want for you because I used to think that I had ‘too much’ and could never heal all the things I thought were wrong with me and boy was I wrong!

The past several months I’ve started recognizing where I’m showing up more healed and it feels incredible!

I share my experiences with it here for you this week and I want you to know, you are not alone, there is nothing wrong with you, and you can shift so that you show up as who you want to be moving forward! I promise you that!

  • Are you making the things you don't want to happen, happen?
    Apr 22 2024

Are you making things you don’t want to happen, happen? Perhaps putting too much pressure on your kids in their sports? Do you know it’s a trap for them and may affect your relationship with them?

Imagine seeing your kid feeling heavy when we get mad at them for not “showing up” on the field or mat. I’ve been there and I’ve seen it with my own kids.

The thing is, know better do better amiright?!

Sometimes as moms, we don’t realize the impact it has on our kids. All their brains want to do is please us as parents and when we are constantly putting pressure on them to win.

I made a massive shift last year because I realized I was putting a lot of pressure on my little boy to really show up on the wrestling mat and my competitive spirit was getting the best of me.

I shifted into teaching him how to feel proud of himself and the way he chooses to show up to each match.

Not only did these shifts change our relationship, but it gave him a greater sense of pride when he knew that HE did his best win or lose.

I’m sharing some tools in this episode that helped our family so that it can help yours too!
