A slow-burn suspense tale but interlaced human connection and survival storylines with a more soulful result. The writing was lovely and rhythmic, and I appreciated the various viewpoints by chapter. But I never fully engaged with the novel; At no point did I race back to the story with a quickened pulse or desire to find out what happened next.
