I can’t wait for another one!

This book was funny, relatable, and engaging. A great sequel to Glory Be. The performance of the voice actor was very good, even though I’m more of a duet fan. I waited for this one and was not disappointed. Let’s do it again! When’s the next book coming out?!

I Love Glory!

I enjoyed listening to a story about a smart, strong-willed, witty, yet flawed black woman. The mystery is a bit thin, but interesting enough. I'll take it, since is gives me more of the snappy dialog delivered in the delicious southern drawl of Glory Broussard and the shady goings-on in Lafayette Louisiana. As usual, Bahni Turpin is a superb.

We all need some Glory in our lives!

I LOVE Glory and Book 2 was a wonderful next chapter in her sleuthing journey. So many twists and turns that left me wondering whodunnit until the reveal! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good book 2

we played this on a road trip and even the hubby got sucked in.

Great Start

The characters are endearing. The setting is also alluring, but not employed to its fullest potential. This is a diamond in the rough destined for something superior. Although there is a lack of sophistication in terms of writing, there is a kernel of genuine suave here. I encourage readers and listeners alike to foster the growth and development of this author. We will not be disappointed, and no one paid me or gave me anything free for this review. I am a retired English Professor giving a shout out to talent when I see it.

As Good as the First

Sometimes the second book in a series is weaker than the first but not so with this sophomore entry in the Glory Broussard mystery series (or at least I hope it will be a series!) Glory is a feisty older woman with a prickly facade that distracts people from her keen intellect. Okay, her cheating husband left her for a younger woman, but Glory has figured out how to calculate odds and is running his bookie business better than he ever did. When he is murdered, his new wife asks for Glory's help because of her previous success at cracking a murder case (in book 1, "Glory Be"). Glory takes on the investigation (as an amateur) mostly because of her daughter. Her bitterness sometimes gets the better of her when dealing with wife No. 2, but I've been there and the feelings Glory has are real.

The culture of Louisiana is a secondary character in these books. Even native-born Glory navigates it with some difficulty. Wow, those church ladies are judge-y! Glory is observant and hilarious and human and all the other characters are fascinating, too. The voice talent here is also wonderful. Don't skip these books.

Glory does it again!

I missed Glory while waiting on this second book! Looking forward to book 3 and seeing what happens with D & L, Glory & Constance, Valerie & the new baby of course Noah and hopefully Justice too!! So much fun!!

A blaze of glory indeed!

I really enjoy the story, from character development to pace/ I hope there will be another installment.

Great Sequel

Glory is still a hot mess and I love it! A must read. Need book 3 now.

catching up with a friend

I enjoyed finding out what Glori was up to. Travesty turned into growth - begrudgingly. I cannot wait to check in again on the next adventure. Lots more of her little life to live!
