I have this in both print and audio… AND LOVE THEM! Florence’s view on things is like having a chat with a trusted big sister, cousin, auntie & bestie all rolled up into one. Like “Women Don’t Owe You Pretty” this book is full on encouragement & nuggets to ponder.

... the author downplayed her magnificent premise by minimizing her expressive vocabulary with the disappointing substitution of the f-word over and over. Wouldn't it be better to say "your glorious life" instead of "your f-ing life"? Her message could be pivotal for so many women from teenagers to octogenarians, but they won't leave the misery of their comfort zones if it requires a shocking dive into the coarse language that typically turns them off (not me, but women I know). Otherwise, the book has many gems of wisdom and enlightenment, with excellent suggestions for experiencing the freedom of delicious living. The author narrated her book with delightful passion!

This book gives strength and encouragement to anyone who struggles with taking up space in this worldand is infused with joy and lovingkindness that made self-love seem more possible. Getting to hear it read by the author was a huge bonus. Her energy is infectious! I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

I just want to thank Florence Given. This examination of joy made me realize I’ve never really been able to feel it fully. It helped me process through how much guilt and shame I’ve been taught to feel even desiring joy. It’s a beautiful little listen, similar, I feel, to affirmations. And she’s right. We need examples of female, feminist joy just like we need examples of feminist activism, feminist rage, feminist power. And she’s an amazing example of this joy. Much appreciation.
