Osho speaks about George Gurdjieff, one of the most significant masters of this age. He used to say, "You are in prison." If you wish to get out of prison - the first thing you must do is realize that you are in prison...or you are the prison. Osho emphasizes this as something to be always remembered as one of the first principles for any seeker of truth.

Very interesting as I expected it to be. It crystallized ideas in my head that I have had most of my life.

Great book.

In this Osho talk there are two questions that are answered. The first one was in regards to the prison and Osho said that humans have a tendency to believe they are free when they are not. He told a story about a magician and sheep and how the magician told the sheep that they are free, or that they were human or that they were lions. The effect was the sheep never ran away anymore because they thought they were free while the magician continually ate one of them every day. The point is that unless one knows they are imprisoned or enslaved then they will not even consider trying to escape and this is the predicament of modern humanity. Everyone's minds are programmed by the media that they engage with regularly. Osho then went onto the second question which was about anger. His advice was whether it's lust or anger to observe it and let it continue on its way. The problem is people feel that anger and decide to ride with the anger and let it take them where it will. They then regret that they engaged with anger even though many times they will ride it again soon. Often people like the power and strong feelings the anger gives them but dislike the outcome. Just observe your anger and wait for it to go away on its own then you will get the energy that it was using back and can use it for something else.

The imprisonment of mankind and anger are explored. Will you free yourselves?
