In this talk Osho is asked whether or not he is ever bored with life. In reply he says it is one of the most significant questions to be asked. He says only man can be bored; no other animal has the capacity. Boredom is a by-product of intelligence, and nothing is wrong with boredom. No animal is bored because no animal is bothered about meaning, no animal is concerned about creativity. Only idiots are not bored – or the enlightened ones, but they are few and far between. The beginning was filled with stories which made for an entertaining Osho talk. He told stories about his childhood and his Grandpa and mentioned some very interesting things about marriage. After a long time in a roundabout way he came back to the topic at hand and rapidly answered the question about boredom. Some of the things he said were that if a person embraces boredom and realizes that every moment is different something as simple as watching the ceiling at a house can be entertaining because everything is in flux and changing all the time. This was an interesting Osho talk for his descriptions of his childhood and the stuff about marriage made me laugh. In regards to boredom he made valid points about how he dealt with boredom in his life: he said he embraced it and suddenly he wasn't bored anymore. He even tried to find boredom again but was never capable of experiencing it again because of the awareness that he had picked up. Ultimately the concept that everything is in flux all the time, that the tree outside your house isn't the same tree, that it is always changing, that the water running through the creek is different every time you look at it or even the blood in your veins: how everything around you is in a constant state of flux and thus change is happening around you all the time. Who could be bored knowing this?

Osho talks about boredom but takes his time getting to the point.
