The Sutra of Forty-Two Chapters is a succinct summary doctrine by which Buddhism was introduced to China. Each of the 42 sutras begins with "the Buddha said" This particular sutra deals with The 20 Difficult Things to Accomplish in this World and Osho takes us through each verse, and dissects it line by line, never omitting to explain - in clear modern terms - the real meaning of the verses.

This speech was all over the place and this isn't Osho's fault it was just the nature of the Osho talk. 20 statements about things that are difficult are laid out by the Buddha and each one is talked about by Osho. This speech was filled with knowledge but it jumped from point to point thus making for a difficult speech to fully comprehend. I can tell if Osho had wanted to he could have spent an hour and a half speaking about each statement and this speech could have been a 30 hour speech. Unfortunately it is not and if it had been perhaps it would have been easier to take in the 20 statements. Osho did a good job with the time he had but about halfway through the speech he really started moving quickly through the statements to finish on time. It's a decent Osho talk and it's definitely worth your time listening to but I imagine it could have been better if he had more time to go in depth.

Osho defines 20 difficult things in life according to Buddha.
