Publisher's summary
Lex Luger, wrestling mega-sensation and three-time world heavyweight champion, ruled the ring for years as "The Total Package." Whether he was making a dramatic entrance from a helicopter, defeating champ Hulk Hogan, or sculpting a near-perfect physique, Lex was on top of his game. Yet backstage, he was wrestling with addictions to sex, drugs, and alcohol - things he clung to even when his mistress died suddenly of a drug overdose and Lex went to jail. There, Lex faced the truth: he was losing the fight for his life. And still awaiting him was his most brutal opponent yet, when the wrestling champ found himself helplessly paralyzed from the neck down. In Wrestling with the Devil, Lex Luger reveals never-before-told stories from his career, his struggle with personal demons, and how, through unexpected faith, grace, and redemption, he overcame all odds to fight the only battle that really matters.

Shattered is part sports audio book, because you’ll go on road trips, enter clubhouses, and walk on the fields of professional baseball. It’s part romantic novel, because you’ll journey with two young kids who fall in love and eventually elope, evading not only her family, but the law as well - for she was only 16. It’s also a story of brokenness, betrayal, and burn-out. If you were raised in a dysfunctional family, if you’ve ever had your dreams fall apart, been betrayed by close friends, or hit the psychological “wall” in your professional career, this is your audio book too.

Nate Jackson’s Slow Getting Up is an unvarnished and uncensored memoir of everyday life in the most popular sports league in America - and the most damaging to its players - the National Football League. After playing college ball at a tiny Division III school, Jackson, a receiver, signed as a free agent with the San Francisco 49ers, before moving to the Denver Broncos. For six seasons in the NFL as a Bronco, he alternated between the practice squad and the active roster, eventually winning a starting spot - a short, tenuous career emblematic of the average pro player.

He is only human
As a teenager in the 80’s I grew up up watching these guys. Never in my mind did I wonder about behind the scenes. This was a great insight into that. I am a born again Christian and relate his story to Samson. So grateful my two faves Sting and Lex turned their lives around. I remember Miss Elizabeth as being so beautiful and sweet. God bless you all.

Wonderful Story
As a childhood fan of Lex Luger, I looked forward to hearing his story. This book did not disappoint. His transparency will help to encourage others who have struggled with addiction but more importantly, his intentionality in sharing the gospel will help lead others to Christ. To God be the glory!

From Fame and Fortune to Jail and Ruin to Redemption
What a tremendous story of how a popular and well known professional wrestler achieved it all and then lost it all by a wreckless lifestyle and very poor decisions. However, after a possible near fatal overdose, he came to know Jesus Christ, and surrendered to Him and was saved. Very inspirational! The reader does a very well job in telling the story. I highly recommend this book!
