Publisher's Summary

The time has come for Leman Russ, primarch of the Space Wolves, to fulfil his vow and attempt to stop Warmaster Horus before he breaks through to the Segmentum Solar.

In the face of opposition from three of his brother primarchs, Russ withdraws the Space Wolves legion from Terra and makes all haste for Horus’ position. Reports from Malcador the Sigillite’s agents suggest that Horus is utterly changed and infused with a diabolical power so great that no man can stand against him. A warrior of Fenris would never willingly abandon his oaths, but with Horus beyond the touch of mortal blades, the Lord of Winter and War may have doomed himself for the sake of honour....

Russ is a lovable idiot.

i liked it but the main flaw was that it sought to explain the rational of a stupid decision...

WARHAMMER

Warhammer Demigids fight for the fate of the universe. Need I say more?! also this was almost an audio drama with the different voices and inflections. it was not a robot but a flesh and blood reader that seemed devoted to the characters as much as you or I.

Fenris Hjolda!!!

The story is great. Russ is an amazing character and this book gives a deeper look into Russ, Horus and their relationship with the Emperor. I really enjoyed it and would suggest it for any Space Wolf fan.

Guy Haley delivers a fantastic addition to the HH!

I'm not one for long reviews. I loved this book. I had been suffering from Horus Heresy fatique recently but Haley reignited a desire to get back into it and march to Terra. The Wolves of Fenris, the ROUT, and especially Leman Russ show robust character development through this novel. I loved how intimidated I was by Horus' immense character throughout his appearances here.

Don't wait, just get it.

Badass for Space Wolves fans

The emperors executioners and their loyalty is displayed in Guy Haley’s Wolfsbane, it weaves together previous works written on the Horus Heresy and keeps tied beautifully together.
Bottom line I highly recommend it and loved listening to it

I loved it, great read!

The story is great! I enjoyed almost every minute of it. Especially the Belisarius Cawl parts. For some reason I really enjoyed his parts of the story. Don't get me wrong though, the whole book is great. They did good with Leman Russ's story as well.

Brilliant book.

No problems at all with this one! Beautifully constructed story, and a real insight into the core of WH40k.

Jonathan Keeble obviously enjoyed this one too and conveyed the story in a fantastic delivery.

Excellent explanation of Fenrisian Philosophy

The story works well to explain the Fenrisian philosophy with regards to myths, magic, and the warp. It is also well acted, including the many accents used, which are not easy for one person alone.

Amazing.

Definitely a must read for those who love the Vlka Fenryka. A tip would be to make sure you read the following first so you understand the full scope.

- Prospero Burns/ A Thousand Sons
- Ruinstorm
- Vengeful Spirit
- Wolf King (Novella)

These aren't "required reading" but it will help avoid spoilers.

Keeble is amazing as always, and deffinitely pulls you into the story.

Vlka fenryka like you've not seen them before

Outstanding story, this book adds a depth to the vlka fenryka unlike any prior stories about the legion. It's worth noting that there is a lot of assumed knowledge as this story is part of the larger Horus Heresy saga and is set in later stages of the holistic storyline.

Revisionist history

Leman Russ's lack of remorse casts his character in an unsympathetic light. Interest story nonetheless.

Wolfsbane audiobook is so immersive.

This book brought alive the vlka fenryka like i have never known before. Jonathan Keeble did such an amazing job he should be commended for his talent and skill.

Any fans of the space wolves MUST listen to this. It is too good to pass up.

The only thing that would have made it better would have been some of the background sound effects similar to the other warhammer 40k audio books.
