Resumen del Editor

A Primarchs audio drama

Ahriman and Magnus the Red return to the ruins of Tizca in search of power - but to find it, long-buried truths must be brought to light....

Listen to it because:

Find out what Magnus the Red did before the Siege of Terra began...and what horrors from the past he hid from his closest son.

The story:

The Thousand Sons have thrown in their lot with the traitor Horus, and Terra awaits them. Their appointed task shall be to break the psychic defences around the Imperial Palace - but not even Magnus the Red has the magical might to defy the Emperor's will so brazenly. He needs a weapon. Amidst the ruins of the city of Tizca lies what he needs, the legacy of a world long dead and a war that brings shame to the Crimson King. Now, he and his favoured son Ahriman seek that weapon - and Ahriman will also have answers to questions he didn't even know need asked....

Written by Graham McNeill. Performed by Sean Connolly, Richard Reed and Claire Wyatt.

Magnus and Ahriman uncover a secret.

Loved this!

Reminds us of just how far Magnus will go to serve his own moral compass. I suspect he seeks redemption not only from his sons, but his father in this. This story hints at a path to that redemption. Thousand Sons fans must listen to this!

short but good

Although this is a short story, it still is significant because Magnus and Ahriman are the two characters of the story.

What could be better is the discrepancy between the characters speech and the background noise. This is where labeling something and audio drama versus an audio book is significant. I often do not enjoy the additional dramatic sounds of and audio drama, I find that they detract from my own theater of the mind.

The story takes place after Magnus has been re gathered from his sundered parts and before the final battle on Terra.

Where the story is certainly good, and it provides an additional something, what it provides is not that much. Poor sound mixing resulted in some muddying of the interaction of the dialog.

When primarchs and their sons talk to one another, it is always worth reading and parsing through the details. In this case, there have been better short stories of the primarchs.

The story is not badd, it could just have been better.

Passable

Not terribly invested in some of the intangible voodoo, even though I like Magnus. Very short and more like a few minute continuation of his book than anything. Nothing too substantive.

Lots of noise and not worth the time

I typically enjoy any 40k content and really like McNeil’s other work but you can skip this one. They focused too much on inserting sounds to create the environment to the extent i almost cant hear Magnus and Azak speaking over all the annoying background noise.

Beyond that the story is fairly bland and doesn’t really offer much new insight.
