Acerca de esta escucha

Shane and Callie must push their training to the limit for the Moonsong Glade tournament.

Victorious but weary after the battle for Starburst Pavilion, Shane and his team return home to Valen. It’s there they see just how far they’ve come since they first became Ascendants.

But the vacation can’t last forever. The Moonsong Glade tournament will pit them against the strongest young Ascendants in the star system. The prize is access to the legendary Moonsong Glade, a source of immense power.

On the galactic scale, their planet is a backwater, but Shane and his companions are determined to distinguish their team as a dark horse. They journey to Doomtown, a lawless dark district in the Wish Curse Palace favored by the scions of powerful factions. There they hone themselves on deadly challenges, forge unexpected alliances—

And uncover secrets that could change the course of the tournament.

no longer a litrpg or progression story

the story has stayed away from is original claim of an MC with a unique skill to master. it has instead turned intuition a slice of life story about a boy who can't go one paragraph without gushing about his girlfriend in the most "is starting to get creepy" way. we get it, she's hot. we get it. grow tfu and become a wish master because as it currently stands, I care very little about this MC or his destination. 5 books deep and has rarely explored or experiment the possible capabilities of his talent.

lack of progress

I was trying to figure out what about this series was frustrating me. I think I've been able to somewhat figure it out. I recently listened to a book that had a character In Book 1 go from a somewhat new Lazy Wizard who didn't care about much till his master died and being all alone the world kicked his teeth in. by book 5 he's known by almost everyone for doing several very impressive things. killing a lich. saving a City, having a staring contest with a demigod. and a few very cool other achievements that got me excited when they happened and pumped when acknowledged several books later as very cool and impressive. Here we are In book 5 his Main power being to grant wishes near limitlessly and seems to have one of the more versatile skills of a literal gaming interface. They made a lich fight as part of a damb scavenger hunt. wishes seem to be a side story rather than the focus. Im trying to stick with the story but it feels like almost no progress has been made since the start. Character growth have been non-existent. most of his personality has been consumed by the relationship blackhole. his character right now boils down to good boyfriend who trys to be a good friend. there are a few edges like his enjoyment of combat and training, his reckless experimentation with his skill and soul strength (not his power tho) but it's book 5 man. his strength technically has gone up but he fights the same way, his hits seem to be just as impactful if not less so than before. on top of all that tho the authors lack of versatility when it comes to multiple characters. he gets sucked into at maximum 4 character, completely forgetting every other relevant characters for stretches of time and remembering they exist later and writing an explanation. there seems to be little impact of growing stronger. the materials around them are higher rank so the impact of strength doesn't seem to change. the people around them tend to be just a tad bit stronger than them and the trend seems it will continue. new planets mean higher rank materials. stronger people. the things that hooked me to begin with arent relevant right now. Who his mom is. why his dad is like he is. what you can do with the power to grant anyone's wish so long as you can afford it. what makes the MC unique in the universe. Im frustrated the potential is wasted here

this is more slice of life then superhero litrpg

I'm not saying it's bad just pointless everything that happens in this volume is entirely without overall impact or progression the main conflict happens at the end and comes out of nowhere honestly it feels a little slap together like several novellas carefully edited into one narrative and if that's what he did good job but you could skip this one

This ain't it

what is happening with this series. 5 books in and feels more like a YA dating series then a LitRPG. Feels like MC hasn't or wanted to progress at all

90% Filler

First 90% of the book can be summed up as "MC and gf improve their teamwork via wacky activities." Many could have been fun as one offs, but 13h of a 14h book is that stuff. You could probably give a 1 paragraph summary of the book to someone and tell them to skip it and they'd presumably have the same book 6 experience, but with less tedium.

Dunno if the author just lost all idea of where to take the story or what, but this was an outright bad entry in an otherwise good series.
