The hunt for the next Wishmaster has begun.

The Wish Curse Palace, the largest criminal organization in the multiverse, seeks its new successor. On Shane's eighteenth birthday, his dormant Wishmaster bloodline awakens, making him a potential heir to the organization's legacy.

In Unity territory, power and public perception go hand-in-hand, empowering an elite class of superheroes and supervillains. Shane must progress through the ranks of heroes to harness his wish-granting abilities. With the help of newfound allies, Shane must showcase acts of heroism to climb the hierarchy, all while concealing the true source of his powers.

Shane's first major challenge? Unmask the high-profile murderer preying on high-tier heroes, each with cultivation levels beyond his own.

In this high-stakes game of secrets and deception, every move could be his last.

A weak to strong protagonist with limitless potential in a futuristic LitRPG setting featuring a crunchy, unique progression system. Perfect for fans of The Path of Ascension and He Who Fights with Monsters.

A top serial on Royal Road, now available as an audiobook!

Another great book by Malcolm Tent. You will not be disappointed. Also the dual narration really brings the story to life.

Nice pacing, low stupidity, good job explaining the potential of the system without praddling on about it.

Well Done

So there are a few things that I really enjoyed and some things that are okay. Let's start with what I think could be improved in the future.

The Meh
- The main seems to take some of the really big news on the chin, especially with any family news. Some of these interactions could have added a lot of flavor and depth to the book that was missing. Sometimes he can seem like a NPC and other times he is very human with typical emotions.
- Some of this is very Keanu Reeves in the Matrix, like "I know Kung Fu" and just starts fighting. Cool but going from a teen that knows nothing to an acrobatic MMA fighter is a jarring, like how did he get from point A to point B with ZERO trial and error. With his main power, he has trial and error but simply knows how to use his fighting?
- Felt a little rushed, skimming over some important details or interesting bits. This could have made the book a little longer. I'm torn on this one because I liked the pace of the book but sometimes it felt like he touched on something really big but decided not to get into it.

The Good
- The characters are very likeable. The best friend is someone that I would get along with in real life and the girl is very human and animated.
- The narrator, Neil Hellegers, is fantastic in this novel. Perfect flow and character voices.
- The story is fun and moves along quickly. It doesn't feel drawn out and the character doesn't drone on or complain endlessly about the same problem,
- The MC isn't an idiot and isn't a genius, he is a perfect mix and acts his age for the most part.

Conclusion, I could not put this book down. It was very interesting and kept a great pace. Minor details could be improved but I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a simple yet fun adventure. It was a little short (9 hours) which as mentioned before, adding a little depth could have solved. -1 star for the "meh" column.

Mostly amazing!

this is a different take on a super power. the mc starts weak and progresses quickly. it's a good book that hooks you. the performance is good.

Don’t get me wrong. It was an amazing book. It just felt like a filler episode. It’s a great way to introduce all the main characters and protagonist. However, I felt like there was no real conflict. Besides that it was fun. I’m not mad I spent cash for it.

Felt like a prequel.

the foundation world building was interesting I didn't expect the super hero framework but it went well for the start, rough around the edges but I liked the novelty enough.

missed the superhero chassis

I tried this after trying a few other series I didn’t care for that much. The first few chapters were hard to figure out, I finally lowered the speed to 95% and enjoyed it much more. I usually speed up the narration so this was different. I’ve already bought and listened to book 2 and enjoyed that one as well. I think I bought the first one in the 2 for 1 sale so that was pleasant. Definitely worth it.

Took a Few Chapters but Really Enjoyed

Malcom Tent works his magic in "Wish upon the Stars 1," while Neil Hellegers narrates this epic journey. Shane's adventure is a wild blend of wish-granting, superhero hierarchy, and multiverse mayhem, as he battles to unveil a murderer among the mighty. With a cool cultivation system and intrigue galore, this audiobook is a wish come true for fans of action-packed LitRPGs.

This book has it all. The plot is intriguing, the characters fun and realistic, and they don't have stupid mess ups for the sake of plot. However, the best part about this book is that it is original. I have read a lot of cyberpunk, fantasy, cultivation, and litrpg, but this setting truly feels unique.
