Better second time around

Look Beverly Jenkins I can listen to her books all day. Wild Sweet Love was so good. I have all of Ms Jenkins books. I feel like I know the July’s personally. Thank you Beverly

A very rich story in the same style as her other books. A great book

Another great story about the July family. Their love for each other and the people around them is unmatched. Madison popping back up was a nice surprise and I was glad to see his character evolve. Loved Mrs. Nance. Jenkins does it again!

Black Pride Captured in Storytelling!

I really liked Beverly Jenkins characterization of two very different black women: one older and refined contrasted opposite a younger, athletic, street smart, ‘take no prisoners’ released convict.

As usual, Jenkins effectively introduced passion and hotness into the late 1800”s storyline situated in the towns of urban Philadelphia and frontier Henry Adams where black folks governed themselves following the end of the Civil War and the development of Jim Crow laws.
