Publisher's Summary

Beverly Jenkins is an incredibly popular author of African-American romances. The Taming of Jessi Rose is the unforgettable tale of Jessi Rose Clayton. In trying to save her family ranch from falling into the greedy hands of the wrong people, Jessi finds a unique solution-hiring outlaw railroad robber Griffin Blake as her protector. Now, with this strong, bronze-bodied man on her side, Jessi might just be tempted to mix business with pleasure.

I love these stories by Beverly Jenkins

I have all of her books they are so sweet and also give you a piece of history. This story was beautiful sweet and so enjoyable. Griff and Jesse made such a couple and her nephew just sealed the deal.

Thomas Penny the narrator is great! Big props to him for making the story come to life. I have the books but actually listening to the story and having a great narrotor made it that much better. I hope audible adds more of Beverly Jenkins's books.

Writing at it's best. Beverly Jenkins great!

Great story especially given the sly history lesson and nod to Native American history too.

SO BEAUTIFUL

I LOVE Beverly Jenkins' novels before I started listening to them. I've read almost all of them and have a good number of them. All the character's are wonderfully described and Mr. Penny's voice for each of the characters is unique and well suited for that character. I can't wait for THOMAS PENNY to narrate the rest of them. I've listened to other romances by other narrators and as of now, I don't think there's one better then Mr. Penny. I fall in love with the character's all over again. It's hard not to listen to him read for almost the whole 10 hours straight, but a girl has to sleep. lol. Can't wait for the rest of them!!! (Praying that's it's soon, because I've only got one more Beverly Jenkins to listen to now "Captured" before I've exhausted Audible's availability.)

Beautiful historical romance

What made the experience of listening to The Taming of Jessi Rose the most enjoyable?

Thomas Penny has a wonderful, rich voice that is an absolute pleasure to listen to, and he crafts his character voices carefully. Wonderful!

Any additional comments?

This is a fantastic cowboy/historical romance! Mr. Penny has a golden voice, and Ms. Jenkins has a beautiful variety of characters, who are lively and interesting. I enjoyed the story, I enjoyed spending time with the characters, and I enjoyed the history lessons.

I am confused by the categorization of this book. The only reason I heard of it is because someone recommended it to me, because I like historical romance, which this book most definitely is. If my friend had not told me about Ms. Jenkins, I never would have found her, because I don't shop in General Fiction.

If you love Romance

Of coarse, you'll love any of BJ's historical romance novels. Read them all two or three times. Each one delivers satisfaction every time. This was my second time reading The Taming of Jessi Rose (1st via audible). The performance was excellent, even though I prefer when the storyline is performed by more than one person. Don't want to go into too much detail. You have a feisty damsel in distress and a former outlaw come to her rescue. Insert steamy romance and you have a best seller (at least in my opinion, lol).

Jessi didn’t need taming

I loved this book. I don’t know how the author picks her narrators but I have yet to hear a book that the narrator let me down.

Jessi Rose was such a powerhouse. She took on the unfair town millionaire while the rest of the citizens quaked in their boots. I’m so glad that her nephew saw that she needed help and sent for reinforcements. Griffin was exactly what Jessi needed to take some of the load she has carried since her sister and father died. It was so wonderful to see a woman valued and appreciated not just for being a classic beauty. I felt like Grif saw her heart and soul. There was great chemistry and partnership that extended beyond the bedroom. Bravo!

I learned a good amount about the black and indigenous people in Texas. I didn’t know the role they played with Santa Anna and I ended up googling these events. I will share them with my kids.

Another classic from Ms. Beverly.

Great Listen!!

Thomas Penny did an excellent job with the narration. He really puts on a great show. With him no dual narration is needed. I'm so glad that some Beverly Jenkins is on Audible. Jesse Rose and Griffin's story was really good. I've read it a few times before however, listening on Audible made it fantastic! There was murder, action, laughter, Love and a fierce heroine in the book. There's something for everyone.

Beverly Jenkins once again crafts a story that is a win win. Great story and you learn about history not often mentioned.
