Publisher's summary

When Keira Saxon’s father was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, she quit her job as a Chicago homicide detective to head home. But she hadn’t been back on Michigan’s Upper Peninsula long before Danny Saxon was dead, killed in a deadly bear attack. Keira bowed to public pressure and agreed to run in the special election to fill the rest of her father’s term as sheriff. Although doubts about the circumstances of Danny's death lingered, doubts were all she had. Until she received a grisly delivery and learned that her father’s death wasn’t an accident at all.

Finn Carstens agrees to partner with Keira’s department to solve the murder. When proof of a second victim comes to light, he realizes that the killer is engaging them in the deadliest of contests. Together they must unmask a man who lives - and kills - in the shadows. As they begin to discover his secrets they realize the chilling truth that only the killer's former victims knew: of all the predators lurking in the Michigan forests, man is the most lethal of all.

a really good book

the book has a lot of layers to it you don't know who all the characters are until just about the end and then you're surprised it's a really good book one you won't want to put down

Very enjoyable

I like the way the story twisted and turned. I had to listen to it twice.

Felt unattached to rest, but good anyhow

This felt like it was outside the series but it was still good. Had only 1 character, and we aren’t that familiar with him.

Narrator was not as annoying this time.

Love This Series

The reader is one of the best I’ve heard! He does the female voices perfectly. I have quit reading books if the reader was bad, and that is such a waste of money and if the book is a good one, I’d miss out.

A Deadly Game of Cat and Mouse

So good! Really! This strong female lead paired up nicely with the male lead and they made a great team. This mystery was intriguing and gruesome. Brant is definitely getting better at her craft. The stories are getting more interesting and are full of twists and turns that are enjoyable to follow. Definitely a good listening adventure while I walk in the mornings!

Another great book!

I really enjoyed this installment of the Mind Hunters! Had a bit of trouble keeping up with all the potential bad guys but it was a solid whodunnit!

Gutsy

I really am enjoying this series with strong and competent female characters. Keira is a smart and savvy sheriff who knows how to get things done, including her investigator, Finn.

Prey

When former Chicago homicide detective Keira Saxon returned home to Michigan's Upper Peninsula to be with her father she never thought that she would end up as the replacement Sheriff after his accidental death.

It is not until she receives a grisly delivery that she discovers that he was murdered and unfortunately she has become the Hunters next Prey.

Fortunately it also brings Adam Raiker's forensic investigator Finn Carstens into her life too.

Together they must unmask a man who lives - and kills - in the shadows all whilst fighting an attraction that could become a deadly distraction.

I am really sad that this is the penultimate story in the Mindhunters series. I have thoroughly enjoyed both Kylie's writing and Bronson's engaging narration. Oh well, onto the last in the series....

Ugggg Narrator!!!

Great story. Bronson is a great narrator but him doing all the characters is annoying. The main 2 characters are fine but He makes the rest of them sound like idiots.
