After narrowly escaping the sacrificial alter, Evelyn finds herself trapped in a labyrinth of tunnels deep underground. Lost, injured, and separated from her friends, she begins a new journey that will drag her into a conflict that she hadn't known existed, lead her to uncover the side of history that has been hidden from her, and finally begin to understand her new life and the world she has become a part of. None of this will come easy, however. Choosing a her way forward is clouded by the trauma and shame that haunt her every thought, the heartbreak over the death of her friend, and her desire for revenge. It does not help that her injuries in both body and soul force her to stay in her natural fox form while she heals. First things first. She will need help if she is going to escape the tunnels and find her way back home - but making allies becomes a new challenge while lacking the ability to speak.

our two heros get summoned to a shithole of a planet being held back due to power imbalances and corruption. they are summoned to serve apathetic gods, have to deal with selfish, and controlling nobles, and their goal is to somehow get a ridiculously incompetent due to disorderly conduct and weak fighting force who does not listen to them army to deal with demons. demons who are the epitome of evil from the seventh layers of hell, which literally torture and devour souls, risking their immortal being in the process. for no apperant reward.

seems accurate as to how a hero summoning should actually go.

realistic hero summoning.

The characters were great and hilarious while not taking away from the story or the world around it

This is a great sequel.

I really enjoyed it, my only complaint being that it is slightly annoying how slow on the uptake the character can be occasionally. However it's really not to bad. I have pretty much assume this is intentional characterization of her as a scatter brain.

I wish the ending was a bit more, as in I just wish they got home. Otherwise the ending was fine, no cliffhanger which I really liked.

The Narrators performance was great just as it was in the first book. I really like her range.

Excellent story
