We must never forget

I was immersed in the characters, the storyline and their emotions. The writing was superb and the voices brought forth the characters in full drama. I highly recommend this audible book.

This book is very well narrated. The story is so descriptive and culturally relevant. I would read it again.

moving and realistic

Well written glad I took advantage of this suggestion from the Jenna Bush Haggar book club. I do hope there may be a sequel or follow up novella. During these times of so long ago reading of these travesties and praying we never repeat the horrible actions committed during World War II.

Beautiful telling of life in the Warsaw Ghetto

I love historical fiction, especially good WWII stories. This is a 10 star listen. It is beautifully narrated, and the writing is equally beautiful. The ugliness of that time in history is told in a soft but honest way. This book will touch your heart and leave you weeping. Worth more than one credit.

Great Performance

the story is tragic and important for people to understand. I'm so glad authors are tackling this to help be sure no one forgets. I do wish this author had an epilogue to tell us if Adam and the boys made it to safety. And if their parents survived or not.

I couldn’t set it down from the moment it began. Told from a different perspective. Thoughtfully crafted. So sad, honest, raw and real. I loved the performances they did a fantastic job of giving life to the interviews. Thank you for this brilliant novel ❤️

Riveting

I never fail to appreciate with awe how authors of historical fiction can so completely recreate a period in time that seems so authentic. Or as much as we think is a true representation. Beautifully written and narrated, and a hauntingly poignant story.

An appreciation

Since I have never had to live through a war, this book gave me a deep appreciation of what it was like and the sacrifices and fears people had to deal with!

This is an important story about survival and trying to find normalcy in the absurdly a normal. It was beautifully written, beautifully read.
