Avoid sugars and refined grains. Instead, eat fruits, vegetables, beans, lentils, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats (a sensible, plant-based, Mediterranean-style diet). Let your body burn fat between meals. Don’t snack. Be active throughout your day. Build muscle tone. Consider a simple form of intermittent fasting. Limit the hours of the day when you eat, and for best effect, make it earlier in the day (between 7 am to 3 pm, or even 10 am to 6 pm, but definitely not in the evening before bed). Avoid snacking or eating at nighttime, all the time.

Story
Contrary to what supplement manufacturers will tell you, you don’t need any expensive shakes or teas to detox your body. Remember that your body is a very smart and complicated machine that knows how to cleanse itself if you allow it to. However, the typical Western lifestyle effectively reduces natural detoxing to the bare minimum necessary for survival. This is why so many people suffer from joint pain, digestion issues, and other diseases caused by chronic inflammation. This is why there’s an epidemic of obesity. This is why mental health issues have become so prevalent.

Story
Instead of cycling on your treadmill for several hours every day, all you need to do is copy a diet our ancestors used thousands of years ago to heal themselves. Fasting allows the body to not only shed weight, but also to reverse major diseases such as diabetes type 2. There is a little-known, yet revolutionary scientific process called autophagy that is the most natural solution to weight loss, anti-aging, and longevity. Our Greek ancestors discovered and swore by this self-regulation mechanism of the cell and soon you will, too.

Publisher's summary
Are you trying to lose weight? Are you tired of trying out a bunch of different diet plans that don’t seem to work well at all? Do you try to eat healthy and exercise but find you feel too worn-down and that your health is suffering as a result?
There are a lot of different health fads out there. All of them promise to help you lose weight and get in the best health of your life, but most of them are just fads and trends with no scientific backing to help you see how they really work. Most of them can end up being harmful to your health and don’t work. Many of the ones that do end up working are too hard to stick with, and you will lose any of the results and benefits you were getting.
Water fasting is a lot different. This is an actual method that can help you to improve your health and feel better in no time. With many studies and a long history behind it, you know this method can actually help to improve and heal the body like nothing before. Even a one- or two-day fast can yield some tremendous results and can make it easier to get in the good health for which you have been looking.
There are so many benefits that come with going on one of these water fasts. Just by restricting yourself to consuming only water for a few days, you can help your body enter into the process of autophagy. With this process, as we will explain in more detail as we go through this guide, you will see that the body naturally heals itself, allowing you to lose weight, prevent aging, stop a lot of different diseases, and more.
As you can imagine, the water fast is one about which many people are interested in learning more. How can such a simple process make such a big difference in your overall health? How can it do all of these different things? We will discuss this and more, along with some of the studies and research behind the claims, inside this guide.
There is a lot to learn when it comes to going on a water fast and seeing all of the benefits.
These secrets will be revealed:
- What is a water fast?
- The different lengths of a water fast and how to use them effectively
- The history of water fasting
- What autophagy is and why it is such an important benefit of going on a water fast
- How a water fast can assist with weight loss, not only while you are on the fast, but afterward
- How a water fast can help reverse and stop the effects of aging on the body
- How a water fast is going to help you heal your own body and a list of some of the other great benefits you can receive when you go on this kind of fast
- How to get started on this kind of fast to get the best results

Interesting Book
I got this book becuase I know I had heard several people mention they thought fasting may be a good idea for me. I have read about several version of fasting but never water fasting. I don't drink much other than water so the idea of this was interesting to me.
At first, I found this book very interesting. They author goes into benefits, side effects, types, lengths, religious practices, and much, much more. I found this all very interesting. I found though as the book went on it started to sound a bit repetative. Overall a very interesting book and I may try this fast for a day as I have tried a few others to see how it compares.
If you do your research, and water fasting sounds like it may be for you, it is worth a listen.
The vast majority of this book is about water fasting types, length, background, etc, and about 30 minutes actually dedicated to how to do it.
I know that the author has to cover their butt by saying talk to your doctor, but I feel this book wold be 30 minutes shorter as it seems to appears at least once a paragraph. I know this can benefit many, but it can also harm many, but again, just overly repetative.
There is also a bonus book sneak peak at the end of this recording on eating and mental clarity. It sounds very interesting and I will probably give it a listen when it comes out.

I’m very happy with this book!
I liked this audiobook very much. I felt it presented the information thoroughly and in a way that kept me interested. The facts on the anatomy and physiology of the brain as well as the information on autophagy was fascinating and seemed comprehensive; since I fast, the details were a welcome help. I also liked the performance by Katie Slezak. I will listen to this again.
