Addicted

Not sure why but I am addicted to Annette Marie's books, and her audiobooks. I'm in my 50's but in these pandemic times I find these stories feed my needs for comfort. I consume her books one after another after another! Thank you Annette Marie!!

This. AudioBook. is. Awesome!!

I'm only partially through, but I'm loving this already. The Narrator is perfect! I admit, at first I was a little sad to see that Chris wasn't the narrator (since she's done the other books in this universe), but I really like this Kit! My co-workers probably think I'm crazy from all the snickering and suppressed laughter thats been coming from my desk, but I can't help it. Would definitely recommend (even if you already read the hard copy)! There's just something about Iggy Toma's rendition that brings this to life...

Another new fantasy series!

Warping Minds & Other Misdemeanors
Guild Codex: Warped, Book 1
By: Annette Marie, Rob Jacobsen
Narrated by: Iggy Toma
This starts an exciting new series with magic of all kinds, cops that deal with magical crimes, and magical artifacts, and our main character who is caught for working for a magical con guy. It is a fun read, great characters and fun fantasy! I am going to enjoy this series!
Great narration too!

Another One! - DJ Khaled 🤣

Annette Marie is lining the bases. Between the GuildCodex, Demonized, and now the Warped series, we will be reading one of her books every month for the next year.

This series gives us a glimpse into the magic police agency. The story has with action and a good flow for introducing characters. However, I'm still not sure why "warping" is so different from illusions or hallucinations. Yes, I know what happens at the end but everything else falls into one of these other categories.

The lead character is a bit more likable than Tori for me. But there are some flaws. You can probably pick the character dynamics out of a Character 101 textbook. But, just because its basic doesnt mean it isnt good. I've said this before, but why is there such a high quantity of orphan characters with parents dying or abandoning them. It's in EVERY BOOK RIGHT NOW.

If you're already IN LOVE with the other books in this world, then you'll enjoy this enough to complete it. You'll have to decide which of the three is best in the world.

Another hit

Loved the book as I did with all of Annette Marie books. Was looking forward to the the audio version. Didn’t love the narrator. For me his voice wasn’t the right match for Kit too old sounding for someone in their early twenties. As with most male narrators he made a mess with the voices of the female characters. Hopefully the have a different narrator for the next one.

Enjoyable

I really enjoyed this branch of Guild Codex series and am excited to see where it goes! It has a male perspective and a refreshing new take on the world where these series take place! I like that it’s in the world but not directly connected to the other two series though the Crow and Hammer is mentioned a few times and shows up! I’m excited to see where this goes!

A fun and exciting read!

I was pleased to read into some new characters in the Guild Codex world. An all around fun and intriguing book.

I saw people complaining about the voice actor but I thought he was good. Men just don't sound like women and I'm not gonna fault him for it. He has a pleasant voice and did great distinguishing between the characters.

Now I'm just sad I have to wait for more!!

Superb!

This is a phenomenal addition to the Mythic world! Its fun, fast paced, and takes off like a shot! I also love how Kit comes alive and takes on a life of his own. Love it!

Another amazing start to what is sure to be a fantastic series!

Alright y’all, most of you have probably read Annette Marie’s work before if you’ve found yourself here. Rob Jacobsen is a new player on the field (as far as I know) and let me tell you! His and Annettes writing styles and clearly their character attributes offered to our main duo are off the charts. This story is a building story just like to be expected. I have a lot of questions about just who our lovely Kit is. I’m sure, we will find out very soon! Well worth the credit. The narrator does a wonderful job. Another great to add to the list!

Good, but the narrator hurts the performance

the narrator makes every woman sound like the speaker is an 80 year old smoker. Its so distracting!

Book is great narration is a mixed bag

Book is great narration is a mixed bag. Highly recommend the book and the other guild codex books. Have a look at the authors website and read them in her recommended reading order it’s a much better read experience.

The narrator for this book, and presumably future series, though is not the best. He reads Kit the main character, brilliantly and really portrays the young funny guy who’s figuring himself and the mythical world out as he goes. But his narration of any female character (which there’s a lot) is awful, think wicked witch of the west from the wizard of Oz and that’s basically how every female sounds in this book. Nevertheless this is a good book and I really enjoyed it

Not as good as the other two Codex series

At first I didn't think I could make it through the whole book. The first characters introduced seemed so cliché and shallow. Where's the interest in another smart ass white dude and some cranky cops? But the magic was fun and the adventure developed as it went along. Eventually two new & more inventive characters were added and Kit's personality grew on me. However, his gimmick of being a pop culture buff falls flat with his references being decades out of date.

Hopeful new series

It took me a while to get into this book, I’m a huge fan of the other series. I did find the narrator tending to have little variety in voices and all female characters tended to sound the same. I’m looking forward to see where this series goes.
