Magic Forged is the first book in the completed Hall of Blood and Mercy trilogy. It takes place in the Magiford Supernatural City universe and features vampires, wizards, fae, and werewolves! This trilogy is packed with humor, adventure, and a sweet, slow burn romance between a vertically challenged wizard and the most lethal vampire in town.

Really Enjoyed

Writing is well done. character development and world building are strong. The plot was only a little lacking in the murder mystery/clues department. Overall, I fell in love with the male protagonist and watching his gradule change as the female protagonist had an impact on him. There is a romance element, but it's very subdued and I wish we could have seen a little more realization and reaction from the characters in that department. Narration was good. Overall, an excellent, clean read. I will be reading other books from this author.

Such a fun story! Clean, well written- just all around fun! The characters are enjoyable, the lack of r-rated things are enjoyable— highly recommend

I bought extra credits to finish the series!

I fell in love with the characters and the world she created with her words. I so enjoyed all of the emotions without the spice. For me, this was a new take on wizards and vampires and the world of Magiford. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about the humor and the range of emotions I felt. This story was so worth the credit plus more for me. I have found one more favorite author and absolutely look forward to hearing more for the narrators.

Thrilled KM Shea has gotten into audiobooks

I absolutely loved the duel narrators (even though there is only a small portion from the male MC at the end of the first book)
I am definitely looking forward to the rest of the series.
I would also just like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to Kitty for getting into audiobooks. I know they are time consuming and more expensive to produce, so thank you for making these!

Enjoying this series so far

I came across this series as a result of listening to another book narrated by Natalie Duke and I was right to follow her to another author.

K.m. Shea has introduced me to a new world of supernaturals that I quite enjoy. Looking forward to the rest of the series to see how it pans out.

Great book and good performance

Love the book and series. I hope the next book is available soon. Also looking forward to the last in the series. The performance is good but the British accent isn't quite right. It's like he takes a few words or sentences to get started. Once he gets it started it's a good accent. I also like that there's little to no profanity. Writing is great without it so it's not used to pad the storyline.

Light and funny

If you enjoy humor, romance and well written Mc then this is the series for you.

An Interesting Super Natural Tale

This was a fun story that's a combination of magic, romance, and political intrigue. I applaud the author for not having the two main characters falling into bed immediately, but she could amp up the tension and the chase a bit more. Just like with the romance, the conflict of the story could use some more complexity.

I will continue with book two.

Fun Start to a Urban Fantasy Series!!

A nice start to a series! Easy to read and follow along with and the author used excellent descriptions to paint a picture of the setting. I enjoyed the idea that magic is dying out, so supernaturals have decided to go public. Though, the different factions still keep mostly to themselves and have a different set of rules to follow than regular humans. However, there are definitely some individuals who think that they don't have to follow the rules and that leads poor Hazel to her predicament. A coup in her wizard house leads Hazel to seeking refuge with first some alleged wizard allies, and then seeking asylum with the Drake vampire family. From there, it's fun banter between Hazel and the vampires and the hint of a hint of a romance with Killian and Hazel.
My one complaint is that the serial murderer killing people (and vampires) and how sometimes that plot line gets forgotten about in the midst of all the training sessions and hanging out at the pool. It felt like Hazel seemed to go back and forth on whether or not the murders are on her mind and if she should do anything about it.
Overall, it's a fun book and well written perfect for anyone who likes urban fantasy for any age group. There’s maybe one actual swear word, but otherwise it's so clean it's practically squeaky.

I liked the narrator! She did a good job with the voices! It is "dual" narrated, but the male narrator only narrates the last chapter. he does not voice any other male voices throughout the book. I listened at 1.1x speed.

First magic book I actually really liked

This my second reread of this book series and I still love it so much. Magic centred book aren’t really my thing but I love this series so much. It’s well written, the characters are so likeable and storyline flows really well .
