Publisher's summary

Tyler Coil doesn't do men. But it's harder to remember that each time he visits his best friend, gorgeous Landon Burke. As a political reporter, Ty is good at reading people, and he can tell the lust is mutual. But giving in to it could mean alienating his ultra-conservative family.

Landon never desired a man badly enough to explore that side of his sexuality - until he met Ty. He's waited four long years for a sign that Ty wants him too, and he can't deny his needs much longer. So when a career opportunity arises out-of-state, Landon wonders if maybe it's time to move on.

Then Ty crashes at Landon's while working on a story - and a searing kiss ignites a night of mind-blowing sex that's better than their most erotic fantasies. Forced to face his feelings, Ty must decide if love is worth the risk after all - before he loses Landon forever.

This is Book Two of Lovers and Friends.

Me Likey!

I liked this... it was just so cute and so darn real. I find from time to time, some the m/m romance on here gets really really good. I love it.. This one was a home run... the smex was great so what story line. Even the drama. Narration seem like a newbie but he was good too.

A buy because it was so cheap... save your credit.

Ok

I liked the story, but--as is often the case--it's short length may have contributed to its lack. Overall, the story had great potential. It made complete sense and was quite believable. But the sex scenes lacked detail and, therefore, seemed far too quick to be romantic or meaningful as a listener, a voyeur of sorts. And the ending seemed far too incomplete. And the narrator didn't differ between the two main voices enough for me, but his job was not a bad one.

Okay story, bad narration

The story is okay. There were some moments that I was like really? That's where you're taking it? Some of the dialogue was a little cheesy and using medical terms like anus and testicles is not sexy to me so that took away from those scenes, in my opinion.

I have a hard time reviewing this one because the narration was pretty awful. Robert Black uses the same tone of voice for every male person, every situation, and every single scene. I honestly don't know who said what half the time. Landon and Ty both had the same voice so based off the audio, I'm still confused as to who is the reporter, who owns the house, etc. Furthermore, when he's doing the dialogue it's almost like he's trying to read as a woman. It was very off putting.

Sadly, I won't be recommending this to anyone. Maybe reading it would have been the better choice as most of my issues came from the narration.

Nice short story

This is a nice sweet story of Ty's coming to terms with his sexuality. It is pretty predictable but a nice quick listen. Not worth a credit but a good sale item or something to listen to while waiting for something better. The narrator does a good job.

Meh

Story - Could have used more actual story, a little less focus on sex. I 100% don't mind the sex scenes in MM romances, I just wish there was more story to it.

Narrator - These guys are supposed to be guy-guys. The performance of the voices left a lot of that feeling out. I would have been nice to have more masculine tones given, and a little less of a whiny, drawn out sound to words by one of the characters.

Just gets a ‘meh’ from me

I really tried to get into this one but it was just kind of out there. I enjoy a great GFY and Friends to Lovers book, but this one just seemed to move to fast, there was no transition...just straight to the point and I feel like it was too much too soon. I just had a hard time really investing in the 2 MC’s.

Great!

As someone from Houston, I loved giggling over the little Houston/Texas humor thrown in there. "The ruts on I-10".... couldn't be more accurate. lol

Great writing, great story. All around loved it.

Best friends to lovers are some of my favorites and this one didn't disappoint. I absolutely loved Ty and Landon and I didn't want their story to end. Loved it!

It's worth buying or using credit

I've actually used audible for a while and this is the first shorter story I've liked. I really enjoy the story line and characters. The reader wasn't bad by all means... It's just one of the main male characters he gives more of feminine softer voice even though he is a bigger manly man kind of guy.. Making it a bit offputting, but not enough to quite listening. But otherwise I really liked and enjoyed it!

Good narration elevates a solid, realistic story.

The narration helped round out a decent, but somewhat lackluster story. The short length and minimal development of the main characters together (leading up to falling in love with each other) didn't make me feel invested in the romance. But the story certainly held my interest and was worth listening to while I was doing my chores.

** AUDIO REVIEW**

Tyler doesnt do men. So why does his best friend Landon push all his buttons, fires all his cylinders, and generally make him all hot and bothered?? Landon has always know he was bi, and Ty is the only man he ever felt enough for to exlore, experiment and just get right down to it! After a usual event truns into something spectactular that neither of them expected, can they get together?? BE together??

this is the second book in the Friends and Lovers series, but its not necessary to have read Sharing Hailey, I just have! We met Landon and Ty in Hailey's book, and knew something was a-foot between them, even then.

I liked this book, and here is why. BOTH men knew they wanted each other, the feelings were as plain as day for both of them. Whta made them wait, Lord only knows, because when these two get together, there are no sparks flying, no ma'am, fireworks I tell ya, FIREWORKS! The major problem Ty has with committing to Landon is his family and their beliefs. Deeply religious, and conservative, Ty knows they may well disown him when he tells them of his decision. Landon's family, while surprised, are at the complete opposite end of the scale, accepting them for what they are, the perfect couple.

LISTENING to a book is very different to reading a book, made or broken by the narrator, rather than the author, and Robert Black jst gives this book what it needs. He does have quite an AMerican accent, and at times, the emotion in his voice makes that more pronounced, but it did not detract from the story, rather made it more real.

I have the next book, Tempting Meredith, say on my wishlist, as a book, rather than audio as it will not be made into audio.
