Story
I’ve had a crush on my brother’s best friend since the moment I laid eyes on him four years ago. Warner Ramsey is 225 pounds of pure hotness, a media darling, and one of the best NFL quarterbacks in the league. Hell, he’s the reason I figured out I’m solidly bi. It was easy to keep my crush under control when I was in college. Now, we play for the same team, and every time he talks smack, I want to shut him up. With my mouth.

Wrong never felt so right. Morgan Cantrell is a survivor. After running away from an abusive husband, he’s finally divorced and starting over, but it’s hard. Of course he doesn’t mean to set off the smoke detectors in the building or short out the electricity in his apartment. Mistakes happen. The last thing he wants is to draw the attention of his growly, moody-ass super. Every time they meet, it’s like oil and water - they just don’t mix. They can’t even speak to each other without arguing, but Leo has to admit - it’s kind of a turn on.

What do you do when you wake up with a hangover and find yourself in bed with your best friend's younger brother? Who happens to be your new brother-in-law? The man who drives you crazy. The man who always skated by on fast-talk, good looks, and a bright smile. The one who makes you want to break all the rules. You hire him as your assistant, of course. Story
Delaney Roberts and Marcus Worthy-Davis have quite a few things in common. Both blue-collar workers in their 40s, they’ve experienced the tragic loss of their wives and meet through their monthly grief group. Their connection is immediate, their friendship solidifying over texts and barstool confessions, neither feeling quite so lonely in the other’s presence. When Marcus reveals to the group that he’s considering dating, it shakes Delaney to his core. He’s nowhere near ready, not when he feels on unstable ground with his teenage son and has vowed not to uproot his life again.

Story
Ben Emerson has lived by his minister father's rules most of his life. Born into an ultraconservative church community, he's finally brave enough to break free and move to San Francisco. Distancing himself certainly helps create a new mind-set, but living as an openly gay man takes some getting used to. When he reaches out to Xavier, a childhood friend who lives in the city, Ben isn't sure how he'll respond given their thorny history. Ben hopes the familiar connection will help him right some wrongs as well as provide the solace he's been craving.

I spent college worrying about responsibilities and earning my teaching degree, so before graduation and moving to Atlanta with my best friend, Ross, I figure I deserve a little fun. I’ve never been with an older man, but the guy at the bar grabs my attention and doesn’t let go…for multiple rounds, all night long. The next day, when Ross introduces me to his dad, the last thing I expect is for him to be my hookup from the night before, in town from Atlanta for his son’s graduation. The best thing would be to pretend it never happened, which is easier said than done.

The job at Sunday Orchard was supposed to be temporary. A chance to gain some work experience, to have some fun. I had not expected to be welcomed into a family of gorgeous and weirdly efficient lumberjack-types, or to find purpose in the tiny Vermont town whose claim to fame seemed to be apple-based products and copious amounts of charm. And I most definitely hadn’t expected to fall for Knox Sunday, my grumpy, burly, fifteen-years-older, reluctant roommate, with his infuriating lectures, his hot-as-fire body, his superior attitude - I’ve never been one to put down roots.

Payne. In search of: Room to rent. Must ignore the patheticness of a 40-year-old roommate. Preferably dirt cheap as funds are tight (nonexistent). There’s nothing sadder than moving back to my hometown newly divorced, homeless, and lost for what my next move is. When my little brother’s best friend offers me a place to stay in exchange for menial duties, I swallow my pride and jump at the offer. I need this. I also need Beau to wear a shirt. And ditch the gray sweatpants. And not leave his door ajar when he’s in compromising positions...

I've been in love with my best friend since forever. Okay, fine. Like, kindergarten. It started out platonic, obviously, but then became.... Nope. Still platonic. The problem is that Parker Ellis has been straight since forever. And that makes it difficult to convince him that the two of us are meant to be together. And now, there's no point. All is lost. He's gone and gotten engaged to his high-school sweetheart - which means I have to grin and bear it, while pretending to be the happy, supportive best man, while he prepares to commit his life to a woman.

In my defense, I was left alone with a bottle of single-malt and a lifelong penchant for protecting my baby sister. Still, that's no excuse to send 10 drunk-texts on why her hasty marriage would be a mistake. If only I had just texted my sister. But nope. I accidentally sent the message to her, her groom, and his super hot wingman. I also used the phrase “super hot wingman”, so I’d like to die now.

Look, when I met the sexy, witty Brit on the streets of London last night, I had no idea who he was. He was just that hot guy I wanted to have a drink with, so I asked him out for my first evening in town. One thing almost led to another. After a midnight kiss, we made plans for a whole lot more the next day. But when I unlock the door to my rental in the morning, the English hottie is lounging on the couch like he lives here too. Great. For the next year, I’ll be sharing a tiny flat with the sexiest guy I’ve ever known.

Publisher's Summary
Quinn Monahan and Grayson Page have been friends since high school. Despite their differences, they’ve been there for each other through thick and thin. Opening Last Call together, a bar tucked away in the small town of Heartsville, PA, seemed a natural progression - even if it makes it harder to live with the secret longing they’ve always had for each other.
Hoping to score an easy buck and a place to sleep, unemployed circus roadie Emery Woods chooses Last Call to run a few bets and enjoy a decent beer before moving on. When he finds himself stranded, the unexpected kindness Quinn and Gray show him leads to temporary work and a couch to lay his head on. Sensing unresolved history between Quinn and Gray, he squashes his immediate draw to the men, opting to avoid trouble. But as days turn into weeks, denying the attraction is easier said than done.
When the men finally give in to the simmering sexual tension, it quickly develops into more than a way to pass the lonely nights. And as they begin to lean on each other for emotional support, it becomes nearly impossible to think of one man without the other two. But while Quinn and Gray are afraid to cross the line of friendship between them, Emery fears once they do, he’ll quickly be cast aside. A real family is finally within their grasp, but unless the men can learn to trust each other, they just might miss their hearts’ last call home.

"Misfits" comes to America (but not in a good way)
Anyone who's read Garrett Leigh's "Misfits" will recognize the similarities with "Last Call".
Misfits takes place in London and the urban setting works beautifully as a backdrop for a story about a nontraditional relationship involving 3 men. The guys seem very real and the plot believable.
Last Call is set in a remote town in the Poconos Mountains of Pennsylvania. Two guys with a long history open a bar/restaurant and hire a 3rd guy down on his luck. Same basic plot and personality types, but less developed and not so believable. Emory's background as a circus roadie is just silly/stupid and the repeated references to his acts of desperation while down on his knees- annoying. This could have been a much better story if it included Quin and Gray's history together. The authors are good at writing steamy sex scenes, but the rest of the book is lacking.

Good story
It’s a good story, but it would be great if the narrator differentiated between each character. There were times I wasn’t sure who was supposed to be thinking/talking. Emery was the only one that had a very slight accent. But halfway through, it would drop and I wasn’t sure who it was. This book was a maybe for me.

Solid Ménage Romance
A pretty solid hurt/comfort ménage romance. A scooch formulaic, and because it alternates between the three main characters in the 1st person, it was hard to follow which guy was talking. But Kale Williams gives it a valiant try.

Melancholy, yet so hopeful.
When I first read Last Call, when it released in 2017, what struck me the most was how melacholy of a story it was, and the audiobook really brought that feeling home. But it's also hopeful and so full of love. When Emery enters Quinn and Gray's lives, nothing could prepare those 2 for the way their worlds were about to change.
I loved that we got to see inside each of their heads, I don't think this story could have worked any other way. We were able to see each of their strengths and their vulnerabilities. My heart hurt for each of these men, they've all had a tough time of things, in one way or another. I loved how they were able to open up with each other, to share their feelings, their concerns and hopes. I love the life they create together.
Kale does a wonderful job giving each of these men their own voices, and I don't just mean how they sounded. He brought vulnerability to Emery, strength to Gray, and such caring to Quinn. I really enjoyed listening to him bring Quinn, Gray, and Emery to life.

Three thirds make a perfect whole!
What if you and a partner don’t make sense as two halves, but instead are two thirds of a perfect whole? Like the TV show ‘You, Me, Her’, this book lovingly explores an unconventional relationship, a thruple. Grayson and Quinn have been friends since childhood, but it’s not until they meet Emery that the three of them form a strong union. Stevens and Lee sensitively navigate the surprise, fear & self-doubt, and ultimate acceptance of their journey. Great characters and story!
