Vaz is the story of Vaz Gettnor, a socially impaired yet scientifically brilliant man. Despite his inability to relate to others, Lisanne married him in admiration of what she perceived as shy intelligence. However, she's been disappointed by the way he's settled for working as no more than a glorified lab tech with a low salary.

Adding to their problems, Vaz and Lisanne have two teenagers who are typically surly and embarrassed by their parents, but whom they want to send to college - if only they can find the money. When Vaz is fired from his job as a researcher but then discovers a means to achieve cold fusion, a technology that could solve the energy crisis and their financial difficulties, virtually no one believes him, least of all his family. In fact the only people who do believe are the ones who are trying to steal the technology from him....

Liked the plot tie ins from beginning to end & Vaz’s humble nature in contrast to his intellectual & physical prowess. Disliked the over emphasis on that power being the source of all the families blessings; would have preferred greater recognition of the others contributions- leaves a slight sense of “showy” or false humility. Still a very good read, Thank you Lawrence👍🏼👍🏼

Found this book via Audible suggestion and they were so RIGHT-ON (Thanks Audible). I quickly became immersed in the story of Vaz and watched in fascination as his safe and secure life upended. I laughed at people's reactions to his antisocial behavior.. I giggled at how far he would go to avoid a vacation. No cliffhangers at the end, but I purchased book 2 like there had been because I want more fun with this entriging family! The physics theoretical concepts seemed plausible and do-able within the storyline and added substance to the tale.

Surprising Find!!

Laurence's books haven't disappointed so far, and this one is no exception. Engaging characters and story line, plenty of action and plausible technology. The narrator did a great job as well. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series.

Great yarn , lots of fun!
