Story
Eva Hyllis and her ancestors became healers because they could feel the insides of their patients with their talents. This helps them diagnose the underlying causes of many illnesses. Having made a diagnosis, unfortunately, there is often not all that much that they can do to treat the problem. Tarc Hyllis, Eva's son, has telekinesis so that he can "push" objects with his mind as well as being able to feel inside of people. This gives him the ability to diagnose bleeding inside someone and then stop that bleeding by applying pressure inside the patient.

At once shy and concerned about her social skills, yet well loved by those around her, she finds herself at the center of a terrorist plot at the Olympics.

Story
A "prehistorical-fiction" novel about a boy prodigy in a primitive caveman society. First he reduces a dislocation of his own finger, then works out how to "set bones" for others who’re injured. Like Jean Auel's Ayla, he discovers other primitive technologies, including trapping, smoking meat, and the domestication of a wolf. His mastery of these skills gradually elevates his previously despised and downtrodden position in their society - until he becomes highly respected and admired. And, falls in love with the girl he didn’t dream could love him back....

This is the tale of Myr Sevii, a young woman who discovers a field that suppresses static electrical effects and warps space in a fashion that attracts protons. It's a hard science fiction exploration of what might happen if you were able to pull protons into a tiny volume and - having suppressed static repulsion - crush them together. The story examines how this new discovery affects Myr and will soon affect the world around her.

Story
His human father named him Cam, as he and his clan were chameleon cats. Kol-ha is what the clan called him, which means shame in clannish. Being a half-breed, Cam was not allowed to take the test to become a clan member. Cam decides that rather than not being worthy to be part of the clan, the clan is not worthy of him. Taking nothing, he leaves the clan to find his place in the world. Though ignorant of the ways of the "outside" world, Cam is a quick learner. His first lesson is the outside world is at war, and he is inadvertently drawn into it.

Publisher's Summary
Telekinetic is the first of a series of post-apocalyptic stories featuring the Hyllis family.
The collapse of civilization has reduced their people back to iron and horsepower. The Hyllises tend to inherit “tele-talents” such as telekinesis and teleportation. Tarc Hyllis’ mother (and his grandfather before her) could “feel” things with their talent. They became healers because they could feel inside their patients, which frequently let them diagnose the underlying causes of an illness. Having made a diagnosis, unfortunately, there was often little they could do to treat a problem.
Tarc’s father can “push” objects with his mind, but, because he can’t feel inside anything, he doesn’t know where to exert force in order to help to treat his wife’s patients. Tarc’s just gaining the ability to do both of these things. The combination of these two powers will let him both diagnose a physical problem such as internal bleeding, and then stop that bleeding by applying pressure inside the patient. His mother finds this development extraordinarily exciting. She has too often had to watch her patients die for lack of an effective treatment. Then some strangers show up to scout the town where the Hyllises live. They plan and initiate a violent takeover. Could Tarc’s powers, weak as they are, play a role in resisting this invasion?
It turns out he can guide a knife after it’s thrown...

Laurence Dahners gets to a new level of writing
I've always enjoyed Laurance Dahners' writing. Most of his books are an easy read with a fun sci-fi concept introduced. The writing in the past has been good but not great but the subject is enough to keep me interested.
That said, this is the first book that I have read where I believe his writing gets to a new level. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the writing is better than ever before.
Can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Post-pandemic Family w Talents
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. In a society knocked back a couple hundred years or so and with limited local governance only, this family has to fend for itself against the town's invaders. Luckily they all have some talents that can help them survive. The boy's growing mastery of his talent turns out to be critical to the town's survival. And, his mother is a doctor and is teaching the boy how to use limited options available to them to care for patients. Surprisingly, the medical knowledge was presented accurately -- so many authors don't get it right AT ALL and it makes me wince to read. But Dahners gets it right.

Great dystopian novel where the author cleverly explains the history in a short story at the beginning.

A real well elaborate story & world
Its a really interesting book, the only sad for my part is that it is to short for my liking , but the story although fiction & fantasy has a well thought way and contrary to others although the power demonstrated by the protagonist might be awesome it is not overwhelming, yet smartly used. I hope i will enjoy the same way i enjoyed this one the next books
