The agony with no ecstasy!

Dark,depressing, unrelenting hopelessness, unrealistic fmc out of nowhere stupid bravado…. I love strong female main characters. But stupid??? To look forward to more of this, I’d rather hurl.
2stars bc the author took the time to paint a painstaking long depicted misery. 😒

Yes yes yes!

This was a great audio book, narration was so well done! I was hooked from the first chapter. I loved the poetry in the writing and FMC. The development of each character was perfect! The romance was not over done and seemed realistic. Well done! It gave me similar feelings to Hunger Games and Divergent. I can’t wait to get into book two!

This is a great balance of dystopian and romance. I finished this book in a day because I couldn’t put it down. The story line is fantastic and I cannot wait for the second book!

Unexpectedly enjoyable

More science fiction than romance—with a dash of apocalypse—this book leans heavily into its sci-fi roots, especially in book one. This is based in the future of America. While a love interest begins to unfold, romance isn’t the central focus and doesn’t dominate the storyline.
The twist at the end genuinely caught me off guard—in the best way! The female main character starts off a bit uncertain, but her strength builds as the story progresses. At times, she appears stronger than her actions suggest, but it’s not distracting from the overall plot. The male lead ended up being my favorite—strong, calculating, and consistently intriguing. Even the side characters were compelling and left me wanting to know more about them.
The narration truly brought the story to life with a fantastic performance. It’s a quick, engaging listen—I finished it in just a day and a half. Highly recommend it if you're in the mood for a fast-paced sci-fi adventure with hints of romance.
