As new enemies close in, Clay Carradine must master his magic.

Having saved Thea from being enslaved by an evil sorcerer, Clay hoped his problems were over. Yet his victory has drawn more interest, not less.

As he tries to build a life with Thea and Gemma, the lovely barista who helped him save Thea, sorcerers from other worlds seek Clay’s power for themselves.

With the help of Salem, an arcane bounty hunter, and Eleandra, a sorceress from another world, Clay must learn to defend himself and those he loves before it’s too late.

spicy scenes were a bit much but hot AF. if only I have the talent to do illustrations. Danny did a great job in balancing details and pacing. enough information to paint the picture in your mind but not too detailed that you get lost in it. looking forward to the next!

Exciting continuation

The main character is very nice, well-intentioned, pretty emotionally in touch, and unequivocally the least intelligent character in the book. I'd hoped for some improvement here after the first book, but the guy has to have everything spelled out for him, in detail, multiple times, ideally by multiple people, before he even begins to comprehend anything. He does no independent learning or experimentation, and has no capacity to make intuitive leaps. His attempts to act discerning or cagey mostly come off as him being an idiot. It's honestly getting pretty tedious. He basically gets hard-carried by everyone around him except for the occasional one-off where he accidentally does something useful.

There was actually very little in this book beyond the sex and other people explaining things to the MC. At least the sex was reasonably well-written?

My condolences to the narrators, who did excellent jobs in spite of the shortcomings.

Special MC

This title is so good and this is one of my favorite series the narration is out of this world!

Amazing

I love the authors books but this one was a dud in my opinion. Really nothing happens at all. It was way to much slice of life....like way to much. Especially with the amount and length of smut that takes up almost a 1/5 of the book. I'm hoping the next book has some action or magic in it. And tell us what happened to the dude in the pocket relm. Nothings said and it's vaguely sorta maybe implied that he got hum out but at the same time does even bring it up and just dlown over.

what even happened

The first book in this series was a solid start and helped the read understand the world which the author was building. This book expanded the story and world a bit more, but seemed both short and stilted. The spice scenes were solid, but one does not live on spice alone. I was hoping for more of the world building and major plot to continue further than it did.

While I'm still interested in the ongoing story, even for a slice-of-life book the story needs to move a little more quickly than it has in this book. The entire book could of been summed up in perhaps 1/2 of the pages that it took. This would of left more for moving along the main story.

I'll still check out the next book, but I'll be disappointed if the story doesn't move further along.

Continues the story, but not as much as the first.
