Publisher's summary

How do two people at cross-purposes bring down a multi-million dollar research and development center? Not without fireworks....

Del Thibodeaux lived her life under a literal microscope, a pincushion for the Edenedge Foundation Center for Genetic Research run by her mother. A mysterious condition has rendered her mute for years, but when the opportunity for escape arises, she accepts the challenge.

Lukas Bloom, star of Edenedge Foundation’s private security force, is trained mind, body, and soul to serve the foundation, and his net mission is to retrieve Del.

Lukas intercepts Del quickly, but when she begins speaking to him only, his perspective changes. He learns of her lifelong imprisonment, and begins to question his amnesia, the odd scars on his body, and ultimately, his loyalty to the Foundation.

A sweet story of discovery

Unspeakable is the story of Del and Lukas and their journey to uncover both of their pasts. This is an interesting read because it is because I selected it because it was a paranormal romance and while it does fit in that genre, it actually felt a little more like young adult science fiction to me. This is because Lukas is suffering from memory issues meaning he is dealing with issues of identity and Del has lived her whole life in a facility and it is her first time in the outside world. They are both discovering the world, who they are and what it means to care about someone else. However, the sex scenes are a bit more descriptive than the would be in a YA book and paranormal elements come in later. Overall I enjoyed this book. I liked Del and loved watching her learn to trust. I also liked reading about a character with selective mutism as that isn't something I've seen a lot. She actually reminded me a lot of Eleven from Stranger things, so fans of that show might enjoy this one.

I listened to the audiobook version of Unspeakable and liked it a lot. The narrator Christy Lynn did a great job with the voices and expressing the emotions. This is a single narrator title.

I was provided with a free copy of this audiobook through storyorigin in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Lukas and Del

Not your typical story. It was interesting story, with plenty of action. The story is well written, and characters well developed. The narration was well done, and nice to listen to.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

This is the third book in this series I have listened to, and I am totally hooked! The plot is captivating, and the narrator is great at bringing the characters to life.

It is a wild ride with new information being revealed at every turn. The author did a great job of making larger than life characters believable and relatable.

The narrator has a very nice voice and is easy to listen to.

This has been my favorite listen in a while, and I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next installment - Unlovable

Great story, well read!

I enjoyed this book. The story drew me in and the narrator kept me interested. The voices felt real but, not over dramatized. I will be following this series. Great listen!

Excellent continuation of the series

The second book in this series can be read as standalone, but I recommend reading the first story prior to this one for a more comprehensive understanding of some of the events mentioned.

I loved the contentious enemies vibe between Del and Lukas at the start. I was team Del though! Their relationship progresses at a natural pace and is believable as they get to know one another. They each have flaws and quirks that they have to work through before they get their happily ever after.

The chemistry in the steamy scenes feels real, and in addition, there's some humor, drama, action, misunderstandings, and secrets that come to light. Toward the end of the second book readers meet an interesting character and I'm excited to see he gets his own story.

Christy Lynn performed the audiobook, and I really liked her as the crafty but not exactly street smart Del.

Incredible story!

As the story of Midheaven continues and the fight between good and evil rages, Lukas Bloom and Del Thibodeaux search for answers. For generations, the Thibodeaux women and girls have been blessed, or cursed, with special powers and are being studied at the Evenedge Foundation Genetic Testing Center. The story begins in the past, setting the scene for the next generation of powerful women. Mirabella Thibodeaux is pregnant and her sister Beatrix is terrified that the 18-year-old is contemplating ending her life because Bella knows that there's something desperately wrong with her baby. As she fell to the water below, a strange man was there to pick her up and out of danger. There is, indeed, something wrong with the baby and it's being unleashed upon the world. Del Thibodeaux is selectively mute and her condition appears to be permanent, but when she's close to Lukas Bloom, it disappears. Lukas Bloom had been used by the Evenedge Foundation in picking up the Center's next subjects, but something isn't quite right. He was a resident, but amnesia keeps him from remembering the details. He gets a code red to recapture an escapee and to bring her in. He's shocked to find it's the daughter of Beatrix, the administrator at the Center. Lukas knows that something nefarious is happening within the testing center and now he and Del are going to get to the bottom of it. Once she trusts that Lukas is her ally, they know that they have to bring down the Evenedge Foundation and Del's mother. Their mission is terrifying, exhilarating, full of discovery and is so pure as Del and Lukas discover each other. There are twists and pieces of information that are not only surprising, but make so much sense and fill holes in the narrative.
Christy Lynn's narration is dynamic and imbued with emotion. She brings life to her characters and depth to the story.

Past, Present, and Future

Unspeakable storyline involves Del Thibodeaux and Lukas Bloom, and their connection with Edenedge Foundation Center. Del and Lukas are both searching for information about who they are and why they are being targeted. Del has been at Edenedge most of life being watched and experimented on. Lukas, I won't give spoilers has amnesia, so he has no memory of his past. There are so many secrets, lies, betrayal, and dealings with the paranormal world. The plot twists and turns are definitely a thrill ride of suspense, drama, adventure, and sex that will keep you entertained and intrigued until the end, or is it. I highly recommend this book if you love books that deal with suspense, drama, intrigue, sex with a paranormal twist. Christy Lynn did a phenomenal job narrating this book with the different voices and personsonalites she brought life and believability into the story.
