JUST A GLIMPSE AND NOW I'M HOOKED!

Talk about just breaking the surface.... So initially, this book started off pretty slow. I almost gave up, but I decided to trudge on and boy was I glad I did! Luna is an alpha-born, which comes with familial expectations of her. This is in conflict with what she wants to do with her life, and I get that. Who wants to be forced into something without having had the chance to actually live a full life first?

Nova and Maddox are her two BFFs, who seem to only have one thing in common: meaning they're not exactly chummy, but will tolerate each other for Luna's sake. I found this quite amusing because there's no chance of any love triangles you might get from other books. Although the description says you can read this without having read any of the Seven Realms series, I'm now highly intrigued. Especially if it has more to do with the unique household of a were & angel union. I want to know more about Maddox's entire family, and in particular, the broody Reys!

Things get pretty emotional and intense past the mid-way point. I could not help the tears that flowed upon listening to Luna's anguish. The fates truly are cruel it would seem. Then there's that ending! Totally a cliff-hanger, but am I mad? No! I want more! What's going to happen next?!

Meg Price did a good job narrating this solo. I wonder if she's related to Victoria Mei (aka Natalie Naudus)? I'm also going to check out Shadow Walker's Saga next. I had no idea "A Crown of Blood and Bone" was connected to this! I happened to have it sitting in one of my multiple audio-libraries, untouched. It's Remy's story and I love that it's a reverse harem! This book was very much YA, though I hope it changes as Luna comes into her own as a woman a little over a couple decades old.

I wish there was a second book

I loved this book...when is the second one coming out on Audible, I know there are two more but they are not on Audible.

Wow not what I expected!!!!

I had this on my wish list but every time I started it I put it down and never came back to it. This time I tried getting through a few chapters when boom I was hooked.

I do think the main characters is too much in her own head a bit of a winner, but I liked the action and drama. I do hope it gets better and in the next book maybe find some peace of mind with the whole matting problem.

I really like the fact the its not just wolf or Lycans but angels, diamond and more. I think the author can bring them more into the mix making the next book even more interesting.

This book is about a wolf rejecting its mate and the pain that mate goes through by trying to stay away. There is some fun stuff like the hot best friend and the cool girlfriend and a world where enemies are looking for revenge on her father's past acts against other wolfs. Wow I pretty much summed it all up!!! No am joking it’s pretty good not my top 10 but I just started my 2023 reading log so I don’t have a book that tops this one just yet. 😉

I really need book 2 ASAP!

wow! loved this book but I really wish I knew there were previous books in the overall story!
This is a fated mate/rejected mate/pnr about Luna and her coming of age at 21 and taking her place as alpha born wolf.
Her 2 bffs are instrumental to the storyline and characters from previous books are mentioned throughout. you can easily follow along without having read those books but I'm drawn to them and wanting to know more!

This is my first time listening to Meg Price and she did a fantastic job narrating each character and giving them a voice.

My only issue with this book is that I want book 2 right away!! I have no patience for cliffhangers but Sloane is a talented world builder so I didn't mind the slow pace.

Luna's story!

This was an interesting introduction to Luna's story.

Initially this was a bit slow in the beginning, however the storyline soon picked up and I couwput this down.

An amazing listen overall

It was ok

It was alright. There were a few times I thought I missed a chapter because one second they are doing one thing but the next second something completely different is happening. Luna was kinda annoying your typical “I’m not like other girls”, who hates wearing dresses actually eats lots of food. It was a fairly good length book but felt like nothing happened. It took nearly half the book to even get to find out Jackson was her mate and then she spends the next half of the book kind of moping around which is understandable but a lot happens in the book but then again it felt like nothing happened.

Friggin Awesome!

Wow... I LOVED this. It had me laughing throughout and crying. My only problem is I keep forgetting theses books are part of a saga. And I REALLY have a thing about reading things in order. The good thing is that these 3 Luna books can totally be read without the rest of the saga. You would know a little more background info and a few names would probably ring a few bells. But you can totally get by, dare I say, REALLY enjoy this book without reading the rest of them. I tried that with another part of the saga and it definitely didn't go as well, without knowing about some of the other characters. And when I saw this book, the cover and title caught me before I even though about how I wanted to read the rest of the saga first. But I'm thrilled that I am totally getting by without the rest. I wouldn't try it in the skipping any of the Luna books and just jumping in. Then you'll be extremally lost!
OK... the book...
It is totally fanatic if you love fantasy the way I do. Another reason I wish I started at the beginning of the Saga, I know I would love it. Sloane Murphy is a fantastic author. This is not my first book with her, nor will it be my last. I also listened the the audible version. The narrator Meg Price did a great job too. She sounded the perfect age for Luna, was able to handle all the different girl voices AND did a fantastic job with the male voices, which I can imagine is extremally hard especially with more than one guy voice. I couldn't do it. My husband died laughing (and didn't find it very sexy) when I tried! lol But, when you can do all that, your not just a narrator. She is definitely a performer. Between the great writing and the fantastic narrator, you can pretty much picture the whole book in head. I also really liked the cover of the book. I know that's not really a big deal, but having a good idea of how Luna looks makes picturing things in my head that much easier. And she looks so beautiful on the Cover (on the audible cover anyways)
And I actually have a lot to say about Luna because she says and does a lot of things that drove me crazy throughout the book. She is Alpha Born. WTF, She is one lucky Chick....and... well... I have a lot more to say about things like that but I'll wait until book 2 or 3 to add something that may be considered a spoiler. I hate reviews that just re-tell books. Ugh. Not my thing. So I'll talk more crap about Luna and her issues later. I still loved the book. I still can't wait to start book 2. Even though if I was Luna, I'd be playing this hand completely different. But hey, that's just me. I guess since I'm not an Alpha Born werewolf, I have never walked in her shoes, so I shouldn't judge. But still, I would totally do it better! lol, I still love Luna and will be back for the rest of her books though.

Rejected Mate Shifter Romance

Luna Rising by Sloane Murphy is a rejected mate shifter romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Meg Price. This is the first book in The Shadow Legacies series.

This is the first book of Sloane's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. The book ends on a great cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait for the next book in the series Alpha Bound to be released on audio so I can get more of Luna's story.

Meg did an amazing job on the narration. She really knows how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like paranormal romances, shifter romances, rejected mates, or supernatural suspense.

what the heck, really you had to end the book like that so not cool. and Jax really that a hole , isn't it enough that he rejected her now he's going to kid nap and maybe hurt her. and that's her freaking mate. like what the heck is he thinking omg I do hope the next book comes out soon.
