Publisher's summary

Emma has been given a quest by the gods to save her country from destruction. If she’s to preserve the future of the fae, she’ll have to become the strongest sorceress that’s ever lived, bring down the cult that seeks her power, and defeat the dark lord that threatens to rule over the kingdom.

Ethan has joined the revolution to save Malovia, but the evil monarchs that control the nation have cast a shadow over all shifters and their fated mates. As a movement burns throughout the city, Ethan is tried for treason, and deception is unleashed as they seek the most powerful faerie objects of all time.

Chaos is paramount as citizens battle against oppression. Emma and Ethan will either rise to reign over the fae, or bring about their final end.

Trigger warning

Please submit a trigger warning for book 4 especially on chapter 11 but overall there are a few moments of human trafficking references to pedophilia and mutilation and sexual abuse… there are some readers suffering from ptsd from such things and since this is an audiobook it would be helpful at the beginning of the chapters which reference these behaviors for the narrator to mention a warning. That way those affected by such things can be better prepared.

How the series are connected

I love how the different series all inter mingle. I would like some type of syllabus system so I listen to them all.

Worth the read

The imagery was everything! I love the detailed descriptions as they allowed me to fall into the magical world of the fae, although I was physically at work or cleaning my home. The storyline is full of unending twists and turns, some predictable, while others came from left field. It kept me on my toes and I was always reeling for more whenever I had to the a break from listening.

Fun

Emma would ramble a bit but otherwise I enjoyed the series
Would like to have one more transition book for Emma and Ethan as the twins grow up

Great storyline.

After getting used to the 2nd narrator for Emma, the story came along great. I hope to continue this.

Good Story

First I want to say that I really enjoy the hidden legends collections, the fact that the characters are uniquely diverse and disabled but never coddled. With that said, Emma is one of the most unlikable FMC that I have read and I read a lot. Although I don’t like the narrator that took over as much as I tried, she is not the reason I don’t like the character. Her internal dialogue was very annoying, the things she said to her friends and Ethan were vastly different. She put everyone in danger constantly even though she was new to the fae and her friends told her not to do things. Ethan was more consistent. Even still I enjoyed the story in spite of the overly dramatic female narrator and the voices that she gave the other characters.

Terrible Narration

The storyline is interesting and as expected from the author. However, the narrators made it difficult to get through this series.
