Twisted my emotions.

I wasn't sure what to expect. Loved & hated parts of the story. Great narration. Sounded hot and sexy.

Captivating!

I was recently looking for a captivating F/F and during my search, I stumbled upon a story that not only met my expectations but also exceeded them. It had the perfect combination of intrigue and bite that I was desperately seeking. The plot was so engrossing that I found myself completely absorbed in the characters' lives, that I would accidentally forget to eat because I didn't want to stop listening!

Diving into Tryst Six Venom by Penelope Douglas captured my attention from the first chapter and kept me hooked until the very end. Douglas has a knack for these types of stories (bully-to-lovers) and once again showcases her mastery here. It's incredibly satisfying when a highly anticipated book meets and exceeds your expectations, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of triumph.

The dynamic between Clay and Olivia, as they navigate the fine line between love and hate, obsession and disdain, is executed flawlessly. Every interaction between them is charged with emotion, and even the smallest touch feels incredibly intense. Clay's obsession with Olivia adds an extra layer of complexity to their relationship, and it evoked feelings that are difficult to put into words. I particularly loved that it was the supposedly "mean rich princess" who found herself unable to resist the allure of the "bad girl," rather than the other way around. Their possessiveness and jealousy towards each other were exactly what I had hoped for, if not even better. It was truly captivating!

The writing in Tryst Six Venom is exceptional. Douglas has a way with words that immerses you in the story, making you feel like you're right there alongside the characters. The dialogue is sharp and witty, and the descriptions are vivid and detailed. It's as if you're watching a movie unfold in your mind.

What sets this book apart is its willingness to delve into the darker aspects of the bully romance trope. It explores power dynamics, manipulation, and revenge without glorifying or romanticizing them. The portrayal of the complicated relationship between the characters feels raw and honest, making the story all the more compelling.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the content, I regret that I couldn't give the narration a five-star rating. The individual narrating for Olivia sounded extremely monotone throughout. There seemed to be a lack of inflection in her voice, which made it challenging for me to fully appreciate the character. I understand that narration styles can vary, and personal preferences play a significant role in such matters. However, I believe that a more dynamic and expressive narration would greatly enhance the overall listening experience for your audience. It would help in capturing their attention and immersing them in the story. I truly appreciate the effort put into creating this audiobook, and I wanted to share my feedback to help improve future narrations. I genuinely believe that with a little adjustment in the narration style, the audiobook could have an even greater impact on its listener.

*To be selfish here, narrators such as Jessica Almacy, Emily Woo Zeller, Sonja Field, Elizabeth Saydah and Lauren Sweet could’ve carried the entire audio or would have done Olivia a lot more justice. They’re able to manipulate their voices to make themselves sound young when needed.

Best F/F romance so far

I loved it. The story line, how it ended. I love how it was telling us when someone is afraid of coming out. And how it build to be more. I hope we can get more F/F romances out there soon.

loved the book not so much the audio

loved the book couldn't really listen and read unless I had book in front of me, so I knew when someone is speaking but still loved it.

Hot but a little long

I don’t mind a bully romance when they are bullying each other. And it seems to hit different when it’s 2 women.

But I feel like it would have been just as good if you cut out a couple of the sex scenes and made it end sooner. Started to drag a bit in the middle.

Amazing Audio

I thought the audio narration for this story was phenomenal! They two FMCs hate that hate to love you vibe and showed great emotion for the story telling.

I did find myself loosing interest in the story a lot just due to length. I think had things been trimmed up some into a more manageable length, I could have maintained more investment in the plot.

A bully FF romance with an incredible audio!!

Desiree Ketchum and Valentina Ortiz did a phenomenal job performing this narration! Their voices captured exactly what I imagined for each character and they just brought this FF romance to life!

This book was my FF romance and I absolutely loved it! It had tension, steam, opposites attract, was forbidden and felt like a retelling of Romeo and Juliet but make it FF! Two girls from opposite sides of the tracks but a twist as the rich girl bullies the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Plus they couldn’t be together anyways as they come from different parts of society. Also, the play is mentioned many times in the story as one of the female characters is in theater. Fantastic writing with that juxtaposition in the book!!!

Also, this was my first time reading a bully romance and at first it made me uncomfortable, mad, and wanting to throw the book at times. HOWEVER, Penelope did an incredible job developing both characters and also giving perspective from the beginning to end of the story! It all made the tension, hate, and chemistry build and build so well in the story as they evolved over the course of the plot!

Overall, I found this FF romance to be so well written, kept me captivated in an intriguing storyline, had such good spice, was intense and all together just a complete page turner! Even the side characters in this book had me loving them! I definitely suggest this book!!

Damn!

Well, this book had me on a chokehold hold! So many feelings in one book!

Love Hate

It was a bit slow in the beginning, almost stopped. But I continued and it definitely got better, so not what I would of expected, but still a good story none the less. Worth the finishing.

The storyline.

I absolutely loooooved this book! I had every emotion possible while reading this. 10/10 would recommend!
