Publisher's Summary

The campaign in the Frozen Continent has failed. War returns to Norghana, and with it death and destruction.

King Uthar has been defeated in the Frozen Continent. Wounded, he retreats to Norghania to regroup his forces and shield himself behind the walls of the capital.

Lasgol and his friends will try to pass the fourth and final year of instruction and graduate as Rangers on their own merits. To do this they will have to take part in deeply dangerous missions and help the king against the invaders. The companions are divided, they must choose between supporting either the Rangers and the king or Darthor and the Western League. If they decide to support Darthor, they will be committing treason and will pay with their lives if they are found out.

Darthor and the Western League make an alliance to defeat Uthar and attack the king before he can make himself strong once again. Lasgol and his friends will find themselves involved in the offensive to take the capital and dethrone Uthar.

Will the hosts of the Frozen Continent led by Darthor and the forces of the Western League manage to take both capital and crown from King Uthar? Or will it instead be Uthar who comes out victorious? Who will survive? Who will perish? Will Lasgol and his friends unmask the true traitor? Will they survive the fourth year of instruction and the war and graduate as Rangers?

Mind-blowing! Urvi is a Master Jedi of Literature

Pedro Urvi understands Human Nature at the deepest levels and is a master at character development and interaction.

Urvi is a gifted artist at character development and compliments the readers by leaving some things for us to figure out--he doesn't over explain.

Side Note: Having served in a training environment not dissimilar in intensity & structure as this Ranger academy, I'm shocked and impressed at how perfectly Urvi nailed the idiosyncrasies of an elite training environment--including spot-on descriptions of the mental, emotional, and physical status of trainees,,,, with a realistic representation of how cadets interact with each other amidst the roller-coaster ride of emotions.

I suspect Pedro Urvi has served in some capacity, or is close to someone who has.

Urvi didnt merely create cool characters to tell his story, but managed to breathe life into them hitting aspects such as the love of family, courageous patriotism, fear of the unknown, self-doubt, mental fatigue, and the struggle between a character's core value system (honor, integrity, etc.) and environmental conditioning.

I could go on, but will leave it there to allow others to formulate their own impressions of this page-turning tale.

First four books reviewed

The story starts out pretty interesting. The main character seems pretty cool. You can tell there is more to him than meets the eye. Good character development at least until the second or third book.
There’s some progression to the series, but not as much as I expected. Story kinda became stagnant by the third book for me. I guess with the passing of years, you should expect skill increases, growth, and change. There’s slight changes, but ultimately, everything just stays about the same. And his familiar, Camu literally only grows in size. I expected much more from that development.
Why does the main character have to be so soft? I get having a big heart, but geez.
And his gift, or should I say gifts. Hopefully future books will make more use of them and they will be more developed. I didn’t have to spend my first credit on the first book, but I did spend three other credits on the second, third, and fourth. For now, I will not spend any credits on any others. At least, not for a long time. It’s not worth the fifth book.
Narrator did a pretty good job.

Does the author not remember what they wrote?

So they use a truth serum to work out why the main character is going out at night but have no idea how to solve whether or not someone deliberately tried to kill them literally 5 pages later!!!!! No words to describe the disappointment in this story line, book 6. I can’t continue listening and I don’t want anyone else wasting there time with such a disappointing story line.
