Publisher's summary

Heal trauma. Reclaim your body. Live with wholeness. These are the gifts of utilizing the power of fundamental consciousness-a subtle field of awareness that lies within each of us. In Trauma and the Unbound Body, Dr. Judith Blackstone explores how we can resolve the mental, physical, and emotional struggles of trauma through the power of fundamental consciousness.

Dr. Blackstone weaves her 30-plus years of psychotherapy practice to present a simple yet revolutionary approach to healing trauma. She writes, "All of the constrictions in our fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles and organs) are moments of our past that we have stopped in their tracks and held in that way, unconsciously. They are frozen moments of our past." Trauma and the Unbound Body explains how and why the body constricts in response to trauma, causing physical and emotional pain. Dr. Blackstone guides us through step-by-step processes to unwind those constrictions by attuning to fundamental consciousness, setting the body free of trauma once and for all by uncovering an unbreakable, unified ground of being.

Great book but absolutely terrible narrate

Don’t buy this audio if you want to practice the guided trainings/meditations. The voice is robotic and it goes through practice way too fast.

Impossible Narration

The airy-fairy, sing-song tone of the narrator is absolutely inappropriate and distracting. I could do a better job!

Nearly Impossible to listen to Robotic Voice

I wish I had tried out a sample of this book before I used one of my credits on it. I really appreciate the offer, and I think there’s a lot of valuable material in this book. However, the narrators voice is extremely difficult to listen to. It says that the narrator is a human being, but it sounds very much like an AI voice, I wonder how Judith Blackstone allowed this book to be produced using this voice?

don't buy if you are hoping to use it for practice

good content that extends the information in previous books by the author

but the audio version doesn't add where one might think it could

overall the narrator is too chipper for the content. (edit:clearly this is a synthetic voice...which would be fine if someone had performed some QA on the output)

and the exercises are spoken way too quickly.. there is an exercise in chapter 10 that is read through in about one minute when the actual exercise should be at least 20

Good substance, terrible narration

I couldn’t finish the book because the narration was so terrible. The person’s voice went up, inappropriately and down inappropriately, and sounded like it was an amalgamation of different words that were unrelated to each other in a sentence. It’s extremely difficult to listen to.
