Resumen del Editor

Best-selling author Patrick Lencioni's three previous business fables have sold nearly 350,000 copies. His latest takes on the most dreaded company activity...meetings - why we hate them, why we shouldn't, and how to make them great

The thought of meetings makes most business people miserable, but they're a critical and unavoidable part of what we do. Through fictional narrative, modeling, and practical solutions, Lencioni shows how to turn meetings from painful and tedious to productive, compelling, and even energizing.

The story follows an executive who finds his job on the line and his future dependent on his ability to dramatically improve his disastrous meetings. An irreverent graduate student comes into the picture with fresh ideas and a new perspective to help the executive turn things around.

This engrossing and concise audiobook will help improve morale, effectiveness, and the bottom line at the office.

Not the usual monotone audio book-Captivating!

Great book with a relatable story and practical application. I'm definitely going to think differently about meetings.

Rethink Meetings!

Would you consider the audio edition of Death by Meeting to be better than the print version?

Patrick's book did a great job telling the story of how meetings can kill productivity. He also showed how rethinking meetings can bring life back into the business.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Casey because he allowed his employees to change the work model and meeting structure. He was not a stodgy alpha male that wanted submission of those around him. I saw him as a good leader. I thought he was the main character until later in the book.

What about Jack Arthur’s performance did you like?

Jack was able to draw the listener into the story. He has a good voice and will not put you to sleep. I listened to this while I was driving so the 'not sleeping' was a really good thing.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Death by Meeting

Any additional comments?

This was a good listen. It was a great thought. I have used this material to restructure my meetings and change how we perform our day to day activities.

Pretty darn good

I wouldn't say that this book is QUITE as good as Lencioni's 5 Dysfunctions of the Team and The Four Obsessions of an Extraordinary Executive, but it's still a great book. The advice about the four types of meetings is actionable and relevant and, as usual, the narrative format is much appreciated.

Better than good

Any additional comments?

Brilliantly fantastic. Wish we were taught this decades ago and had everyone know this so meeting were fund and productive rather than something at least one attendee would rather not be at.
I think this should be a basic How-To guide that anyone entering the work force gets taught.

Thought provoking

I enjoyed the way they made learning business strategy entertaining! The techniques were intuitive, and I can see myself using them in the future. I expect to listen to this book again!

Awesome!

We have completely changed the structure of meetings at my company to something very similar, and it has been working wonderfully. We have less internal conflict, and the constant open communication has help us evolve and grow faster than ever.

Engaging

I liked the story and how it described the missing pieces of a good meeting.

Awesome info and very entertaining!

What did you love best about Death by Meeting?

I love that you don't have to sit and listen to all the principles, but how you instead see how the principles were put into place and experienced by people within the setting of the meeting. It's not what you expect. It's better!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Death by Meeting?

Can we talk about something other than the **** company picnic!!

What about Jack Arthur’s performance did you like?

He told the story well and kept it moving without losing the right pauses.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Never again...
