The October Revolution happened in November 1917. Later Soviet propaganda 'proved' it was 'the will of the people', but few know that the brutal rebellion, which killed millions and raised Lenin's numerically tiny Bolshevik Party to power, was made possible by massive injections of German money laundered through a Swedish bank and a shady arms dealer who had made a fortune in the Balkan wars.

Publisher's Summary
The newest electrifying thriller in the #1 New York Times–bestselling series has President Jack Ryan and his allies facing a treacherous foe threatening to unleash chaos around the globe. . . .
When Russian President Valeri Volodin's ambitions are foiled in Dagestan, he faces a difficult choice. The oligarchs who support him expect a constant flow of graft, but with energy prices cratering, the Russian economy sputters to a virtual halt. Unable to grow the Russian market at home, his hold on power relies on expansion abroad—a plan that has been thwarted by the United States in the past. But this time Volodin has determined that an indirect approach is the best. A floating natural gas facility in Lithuania is blown up. A Venezuelan prosecutor is assassinated. A devastating attack on a Russian troop train kills dozens. A chaotic world is the best camouflage for a series of seemingly unrelated attacks.
Only one man recognizes an ominous pattern in the reports of terror from around the globe. U.S. President Jack Ryan sees a guiding hand in the worldwide chaos, but before he can act he needs proof.
Critic Reviews
“Greaney delivers a story reminiscent of the older Clancy novels...A taut storyline with familiar characters facing new challenges.” (Kirkus Reviews)
“In the best tradition of Clancy...Fans of military action thrillers will be well satisfied.” (Publishers Weekly)

This one will be a Jack Ryan classic!
The series just keeps getting better and better! Mark Greaney did a fantastic job filling Clancy's shoes in this thriller! The plot, ripped out of current headlines - who knew - left me wishing Jack Ryan was president and the Campus was out there to straighten things out! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Both Jack Ryans Continue
Mark Greaney has done an admirable job of continuing Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan characters as well as continuing with the political/military technical details that made Tom Clancy famous. In addition, the plot carrying these characters and details was well-crafted and intriguing. Some readers/listeners may object to the length and pace of this novel ... but both the length and pace were typical of Clancy's work. Frankly, I enjoyed both.
As always, Scott Brick brings the characters, both good and bad, to life.
If you have liked Tom Clancy and Mark Greaney's guardianship of the Jack Ryan saga, you'll enjoy Commander-in-Chief.

As usual follow the $$$$
I am not a big Scott Brick fan, but I thought he turned a really well done performance !
Story written by Greaney was well written, certainly done better than the other Tom Clancy wannabes.
I for one really consider it a bonus when Jack Sr, Jr, John Clark, Ding, Jr's cousin are in the cast of characters.
Greaney kept the plot moving, allowed a love interest with out getting sloppy, and the young in cheek humor, along with the verbal banter really made for a good page turning book.
Russian greed, and treachery is exploited throughout the book, and when certain characters die the touch of greed and deception are passed on to the next talking head.
I know the book is long but it moves right on along, and all of my favorite characters are true to form, just getting older.

One of the best novels I've heard in a long time. Using similar historical events with real life historical events was amazing. The authors ability to see where the current idea of social justice compared to real world application of justice was wonderful. Very well done.

Best Story overall for Mark Greaney following Clancy.
This was developed so good by the author. I think he has grown into a great story teller like his mentor Clancy.
Scott Brick is an excellent narrator, but how did he mispronounce 'salon' as saloon of the Wild West!!! Please fix this detraction.
By all accounts, this book surpassed all of Mark Greaney's books in the Tom Clancy's series. Thank you for a good read.
