Seeking to prepare a new generation for power, Eisenhower intensely advised the 43-year-old Kennedy in the intervening time between the speech and the inauguration. Dwight Eisenhower left the public stage at the end of these three days in January 1961 having done more than perhaps any other modern American to set the nation "on our charted course toward permanent peace and human betterment". Despite their differences in party affiliation, President Kennedy would continue to seek his predecessor's advice and counsel during his time in office. Worth Your Time

Eisenhower grows in statue and significance with every passing day. His presidency doesn't receive the due it deserves. What a great leader was he. The country is in desperate need of a leader like Ike. This book provides a small glimpse into why this is so.

A Wonderful Review of an Exceptional Presidency

Brett Baier has done a fine job of researching and writing a very informative book about a thoughtful and courageous president. lke saw the future incredibly clearly, not only regarding the military-industrial complex, but the scientific-governmental hijacking of the supposed human caused climate change issue. This is a very good book for our time. Thank you Mr Baier.

Well told story of true events. It takes you into the room like the proverbial fly on the wall.

Excellent Insight into Ike as President and a Man

A very interesting account of Ike's military and political leadership. Bret Baier writes as a journalist and thus portrays Ike's life and times in a vivid and clear fashion. I also think that Baier is the perfect narrator for this work. All in all, an informative book. I hope Mr. Baier will write more about recent Presidents.

Very interesting and thought provoking

Never knew much about the Eisenhower administration and after listening to this book I want to learn more about this time in history. Very well done!
