Fantast Book!

I am truly impressed by story and it's well developed characters. The ending is good too! I hope he writes a sequel!

Dislike the inconclusive ending. Who is JD? “suicide man in the cabin?” More clarity needed

Total Surprise

When I bought the book I thought it was going to be about corruption in politics. The fact that it was a murder mystery was very surprising and enjoyable

Ending was no what I expected.

The storyline was good, but he reader was not. The inflections for characters were off-putting. I listened to hundreds of audiobooks, and I would list this one as one of the worst performances I've heard.
The book deserves better.

Twists and turns. Good story. Great character development. Likeable relatable protagonist. Worth the credits. Go for it.

The book grabbed my attention from the beginning to the end. I loved the legal details.

I did not expect fiction from Trey Gowdy. He seemed to me to live in reality, proof, and honesty. Never fiction or deceit. Perhaps having reality, proof, and honesty one can know or experience the opposite - deceit. This story led this reader through both ends of the spectrum of life - good and evil. I loved the story.

Now I understand the title.

Yikes! I was so looking forward to listening to this book, but it is beyond expectations. It could be written only by someone who thoroughly understands the law, and who is grounded in empathy and the meaning of justice. 5 stars all around; the narrator managed the many voices and personalities in the story.
