I’m a good girl.

I live by a code that can’t be bent or broken. It is my duty to my family to stay innocent and pure. To marry an Italian man. The stars are already aligned.

But Nikolai Kozlov re-writes my destiny with five simple words.

You belong to me now.

He's Russian mafiya. A thief. A skilled liar with no moral boundaries. He is everything I have been taught to hate. A man who stands for nothing. A man who takes what he wants without a second thought.

And what he wanted was me.

He thinks he controls my fate, but what he doesn’t know is that sometimes it’s the good girls you have to watch out for.

I’m a dangerous man.

I live by a code. The Vory code. It is my duty to my family to protect the brotherhood. To destroy anyone who threatens what we stand for, including her.

She’s a dancer. A beautiful little doll. My prisoner and my new favorite puppet. This mafia princess thinks she has me under her spell, but in the end, she is simply collateral.

It’s a shame to destroy precious things.

But this is what bad men do.

I admit that my review is really colored by my preferences so let me preface this with the fact that this is a well-written, dark book about a Russian mobster who has power over a beautiful mob princess. Nikolai made a deal with Tanaka's father and he holds on to her as collateral. Throughout the first half of the book, they fight against each other but my biggest issue is that the push and pull makes it that Nikolai seeks other women for comfort. I'm quite against this so that colored the rest of my perception of the book. However, that said, it is a well written, very descriptive book. Tanaka is really a sympathetic character who has been psychologically damaged (by her father) and Nikolai actually does try to help her, even though he does things that I don't agree with.

I also listened to the audiobook, besides borrowing the book via KU. Tracy Marks is good and one of the better ones at playing multiple male and female characters pretty seamlessly. Since this book is a dual POV, I kind of wish that there were a male and female narrator though!

This type of storyline is totally new to me. The author truly does a great job writing a page Turner but I keep asking myself about falling for the kidnapper. Would I? Could I? It's a very interesting thought process. It pulls my emotions. I couldn't put it down. Absolutely loved her writing. Excellent narrator!

Not trying to beat a dead horse…But again anyone who’s read my reviews know that I’m a huge fan of A. Zavarelli! So you also know I’m enjoying this Boston Underworld Series for its raw, real, and very extraordinary characters….I’m usually eager to find out what comes next in the series! 😍😁😘

The anti-hero, Nikolai so sexy, smart, devious, hot, an ass. Someone we love to hate. Tanaka, the heroine so beautiful, elegant, sheltered, strong, smart, battered, lonely, and angry. These two had so much chemistry it was raw it was sweet and I couldn’t put them down. 😍😘🥰😁Some might say this was one of the less complicated books but again real. I loved the tie-ins on this one of the other books and other characters. I’d almost forgotten how these characters fit into Ghost, Talia and Alexie’s, story until they started reliving some of the scenes from Nikolov and talia’s perspectives and then of course it all made sense….😁🤓

The narration was awesome, I would definitely read it again! And this one will go on my favorites!!!

Yes! Yes! Yes!!!😜😘😍

First off I love all of the characters in the Boston underworld series! But I have to say Nikolai is my favorite ! This book was suspenseful and had just the right amount of romance. I recommend this series to anyone who likes a great story with hot sex !

Anti-hero that you will love to hate. I hated that Tanaka saw other women with Nikolai, I seriously wanted to strangle him. Captive storyline but if you've read the books before you should already know a little about Nikolai and Tanaka. The heroine has tons of issues that stem from her father and wanting to be a ballerina which is all she cares about since that is her only escape. Twists and turns at the end and I'm happy Tanaka did what she had to do towards the end.
