Good storyline and lots of bang for your buck

I thought this was a well written book with strong characters who acted normally given their situations. I highly recommend.

Great book great narration I would give it five stars however I have some reservations

story is very good. I even like the concept about the society and the way they are all a very big family and that they govern themselves however, the details of the story I did not like the part where he was humiliating her and I didn’t like the part where she kept on forgiving him even though he had he treated her in a very bad way so this part I did not like it however, the narration is great and the story is also great, if you are into this kind if you are into this kind of love stories and forgiveness, which is frankly not realistic then I would recommend reading this book and the whole series. The story is great however, the sex parts and the humiliation is not so much.

Great story, a page turner

I really enjoyed the story. I had moments of laughter, sadness for the main female character, and anger towards the main male character. Lots of emotions and I could stop listening.

Good story and very different from the norm. It’s nice to listen to a different story. The writing is decent with well developed storylines.

I read the reviews and I disagree with the petty complaints. The Performances are very good. Though I’m not one to complain about everything little issue.

Darker and dark -.maybe too much so

I like these authors. The narration was fine. I didn’t love the male narrator’s over annunciation of fairly casual contractions. It felt a bit unnatural even for the starkness of the character.

As to the story - in general it was good. However, there are more than a few scenes that represent physical and sexual violence, if not outward rape. One scene in particular is hard to unhear and it is an integral part of the first story without being revisited in some sort of apologetic epiphany. Had it been toned down the scene would have been far better, more effective and less like the glorification of sexual violence.

It’s hard to not feel like the female protagonist is simply being bullied into falling for a violent rapist. And while he’s supposed to be depicted as a monster - those lines are far too uncomfortably blurred. Any reader will likely know the scene reference.

The third story in the trilogy is the best of the three. When taken together, however, it’s difficult to understand how this tale is not simply violence.
