From the author of the instant New York Times best seller The Wives comes another twisted psychological thriller guaranteed to turn your world upside down.
Have you ever been wrong about someone?
Juno was wrong about Winnie Crouch.
Before moving in with the Crouch family, Juno thought Winnie and her husband, Nigel, had the perfect marriage, the perfect son — the perfect life. Only now that she’s living in their beautiful house, she sees the cracks in the crumbling facade are too deep to ignore.
Still, she isn’t one to judge. After her grim diagnosis, the retired therapist simply wants a place to live out the rest of her days in peace. But that peace is shattered the day Juno overhears a chilling conversation between Winnie and Nigel....
She shouldn’t get involved.
She really shouldn’t.
But this could be her chance to make a few things right.
Because if you thought Juno didn’t have a secret of her own, then you were wrong about her, too.
From the wickedly dark mind of best-selling author Tarryn Fisher, The Wrong Family is a taut new thriller that’s riddled with twists in all the right places.
“The Wrong Family is your new obsession. It’s full of twists you’ll never see coming and you’ll be breathless until the end. Trust me: you’ve never read anything like this.” (Number one New York Times best-selling author, Colleen Hoover)
Don’t miss An Honest Lie, the next gripping, unputdownable, twist-filled thriller from Tarryn Fisher!

This one grips you hard where it hurts and squeezes!
While I'm pushing past 1,000 audiobooks - more than 700 thru Audible alone - this has to be in the Top Ten of my all time favorites! I wanted to stay with it through a single reading, it was so good! It's 4AM as I write this - seriously. There's just one aspect of the story line that requires a little suspension of belief - but just go with it and you will be richly rewarded! And the ending - well, you'll never see it coming. It was ^that* good!

Odd
Very good writer who needed an honest friend or editor. The story is a mess. Honestly, I am an avid reader so maybe this author will read this review and take it to heart. The story was way to unbelievable, too many sub plots, and just strange. I could see really interesting ideas here that should have been fleshed out better. The big plus is the author is a good writer which means all of the above is fixable. She wrote the homeless person very well as I have spent my whole life working in that system. Great details and descriptions just needed a better plot. I think telling story thru the eyes of homeless person could really be used well in a different setting. I could see a real thriller there. Keep trying.

VIOLENT
I kept thinking this story was going to get better, or that I would come to like at least one of the characters. It didn't happen. It's a depressing story about depressing people doing depressing things. No one in this book knows how to treat each other and they inflict terrible emotional, mental, and finally physical pain on each other. It makes life feel dark and dismal.
Lauren Fortgang is a talented narrator. Hopefully she'll choose better books in the future, like I intend to do.

A twisted tale until the very end!
The Wrong Family will have you guessing until the very end. Then leaves you stunned as you hear the last line. The writing is engaging and will have you on the edge of your seat, reading (or listening) until the wee hours of the morning until you finish. You will not want to wait to read this new psychological thriller from Tarryn Fisher! And Lauren’s narrating is top notch and brings this story to life!

It was lacking...
This book could have been better if we fleshed out the characters a little bit more. We get little tib bits here and there on certain characters and with some characters, none. I also think the twist in the beginning of the book should have been pushed into the middle. Maybe the writer could have gotten somebody to look at the story a few times and help her edit it to make it better. I also didn't like that the story kinda just stops.
I'm gonna say pass on this book.

My second, and probably last, Tarryn Fisher book
This is my second Tarryn Fisher book, and I have to say I haven't been very impressed. She’s an excellent writer, but her stories kinda end up falling flat for me. The Wives was such a huge disappointment, but I liked the premise of this one so I decided to give her another chance. And I liked this one much better...right up until the major plot twist truth reveal. Just...why? I liked where it was already going. So, why do a 180 and go THAT way? Things just went downhill from there. Somehow we got from possible child abduction to drug addled hostage situation, and that's kinda where I lost all hope or interest. Narrator is good for the most part, but when anyone starts to get emotional, her voice gets really whiny and grating. I don't know. Two strikes makes me wonder if I should give Ms. Fisher anymore of my time.

A hard listen and uninteresting characters
I got this book as the reviews spoke of the “twists”. There is one very small reveal early on other than that the story is told narrative style switching between two characters who are relatively boring. The writer is very detailed which may work in print but in audio very tedious. I would not recommend.

Twisty
Must be hard to follow a book as amazing as the wives... this was slow for me to get into.. if it wasn't tarryn fisher I may have given up... also I really love the narrator.. it hooked me around half way. I did enjoy the story overall... it was pretty gruesome... not what I was expecting, but definitely worth a listen.
