New to me author

This is my first time reading a book by this author and it won’t be my last. The narrators for Shattered Vows were great and had listening even when I shouldn’t be. The angst and marriage of convenience storyline was just what I needed. I can’t wait to go back and read more of this authors work.

It was ok

The story was ok. The narrators were ok. Probably the last time I read her books. Both books I read were just ok. Nothing wow or spectacular.

Angsty Arrangement

I enjoyed my first Shain Rose book. It was intense, made me laugh, and was steamy. However, what started with a fiery one-night stand, quickly turned into a slow burn. Bastian is a Mafia boss- demanding, dominating, and protective. On the other hand, Morina is a free spirit, has difficulty staying focused, and prefers to go where the wind blows. However, she is passionate about her smoothy business and sheltered animal. Bastian and Morina's worlds collide when Morina's grandmother dies and, through her will, forces Bastian and Morina into an arranged marriage to protect Marina.

There's a lot of push and pull between our MCs as they deny and fight their feelings for each other. And I loved how they teased each other, got jealous, and eventually, they would talk it out when they argued.

Nelson Hobbs and Michelle Sparks did a great job narrating and elevating the story.

Great story!!

i really enjoyed listening to this book about Morena and Sebastian - the hippie and the ex-mobster! The narrators, Mia Madison and Nelson Hobbs, did an amazing job bringing this story to life for me.

Morena met Sebastian at a club night and agreed to go see an amazing sunrise with him. She just didn't know that they'd have to take his private jet to a private island to see it. Lol they had one hot night together and then a week later he's back but not necessarily for her.

She discovers that he's trying to clean up his fathers dirty business dealings and one of them was with her grandmother's shares in an oil company. Of course, she didn't know that her sick grandmother had those shares. After she passes away, she indicates in her will that Mo and Bastian get married as part of her gaining access to her Inheritance.

They are so different and agree to only get married for appearances ... but intentions fall apart as they grow closer.

This was a great story!! Really loved the characters.

Great read couldn't stop listening. so much anticipation of what was to come take that literal or not

Disappointed

I’ve read all of the interconnected series. This one is my least favorite. My main complaint with all of the books is how much the characters change. Characters that are major players in previous books seem to get complete personality changes once they get to their own stories. I actually started reading this author with Cades story and really liked his book. I then started from the beginning of her series and his character in the backstory is nothing like his actual story. Same goes for this one. Backstory books portrayed Sebastion as a strong Alpha character. In his actual story he’s more of a whiny little boy. I mean he’s supposed to be the leader of the mafia… and he acts like an indecisive pansy most of the book. The female character is not any better. The narration of the characters is just okay. Sometimes it sounds like they are reading from a script. It really had so much potential.

I couldn't finish..

For those that are really affected by narration, don't listen to this. I think I could have stuck it out if the female narrator didn't bother me so much. It got a little better towards the middle, but I stopped listening or being able to pay much attention to the actual story. I'm sure if it's read it'd be a different, but listening was tough.

spicy mafia romance

This book takes a few chapters to get into. The push and pull of the main characters is cute, and full of banter. Morina's grandmother arranges her marriage to mafia leader Bastian, he wants to make his dealings legitimate. Morina is a free spirt and kinda aloof to life, but doesn't let Bastian run over her. He's a little high strung, I wish there was a little more dom style out of him.( personal want lol) He marries out of need, but falls for her, then starts the back and forth of him wanting her but not wanting her. The spice needs to be a little more. Some parts felt rushed, but over all a good read.

Amazing book

I absolutely love the storyline in this book it had me interested the whole time.
