Publisher's summary

866 AD.

Saxon England burns under attack from the Great Heathen Army. Vicious Viking adventurers land on the coast of Frankia hungry for spoils, conquest and glory. Hundr and the crew of the warship Seaworm are hunted by Ivar the Boneless, a pitiless warrior of incomparable fury and weapon skill. Amidst the invasion of Brittany and war with the Franks, Hundr allies with the armies of Haesten and Bjorn Ironside, two of the greatest warriors of the Viking Age. Ivar the Boneless hunts Hundr, desperate to avenge the death of his son at Hundr's hand.

To survive, Hundr must battle against fearsome Lords of Frankia, navigate treachery within the Viking Army itself, and become a warrior of reputation in his own right. Hundr must navigate the war, survive Ivar's brutal attacks, and find his place in the vicious world of the Vikings in this unputdownable, fast paced adventure with memorable characters.

The Wrath of Ivar continues the unmissable Viking historical fiction saga series which began with Peter Gibbons' debut Viking Blood and Blade.

Fast Paced Sequel!

I know there are 6 books in this series and I couldn’t stop listening to the 2nd book. I think from the first book we were all wondering when Hundr would become the Viking we all know he will one day become. I don’t really like the wall flowering of him wanting to be a supervillain Viking versus a lover and feels remorse for everyone. I’m hoping now all that foolishness is gone, and the rest of the series builds up his legendary status.

Great series

These are fantastic books. The Vikings were wild blood thirsty people. Watching how Honda has grown to the leader his is now with Stan and the others by his side has been interesting. They have no problem killing people and taking gold sliver and anything else they can take. Looking forward to book 3.

Better

I enjoyed this one more than the first, both books are mostly about fighting without much more

Act 2 of the trilogy

In my review of the first book, I shat all over the narrator’s drone like reading of the book. I must admit that as the book went on, I got used to the narration. Well, the same narrator is back for this one. And I can honestly say, I really don’t mind his reading of the story- which is pretty good except for one glaring part: (minor spoiler ahead) Thor is NOT the blonde haired surfer boy popularized by Marvel. I WISH the author had done a bit more research into the “mythology” Other than that, a very good second entry to the series. I look forward to the third one and am even hopeful that it’s the same narrator.

Great story

Very enjoyable will continue the series. Listening to it allows you to really imagine the story like Vikings did for years with their story telling.

Good, but book 1 was better.

The characters lacked depth and the plot was too straight forward. The constant repeat of information was annoying too. Overall, it wasn’t a bad book nor story.

All battles and no human interest

I thought the story was kind of boring. Sorry. I liked the first one because there was enough other stuff to make it interesting. One battle after another after another is just boring. But I’m listening to the next book because it has good reviews and I like the first one all right.
