So much angst

The MC is so angsty I couldn’t listen to the whole story. I listened to the first few chapters and then skipped to 50. Literally didn’t miss anything. Lol. This is really a continuation of the first story and has a very obvious ending.

Decent

I was excited to see there was a 2nd installment. As I got into it I could not stomach Carrie. I couldn't stand the constant manic barrage of thoughts she had. The constant fear of upsetting Marney, the lack of a backbone and just plain commonsense. It came across as if she was a teenager not a grown woman. I almost stopped about twice. If there is a 3rd installment I hope Carrie presents as a more self confident with a backbone!

Pretty enjoyable for a free listen

It was nice to get a continuation of The Stepson but please, no more! The main character was quirky in the first book and became increasingly annoying in this book. The story was a bit predictable at times but still held a surprise or two at the end. The narrator is good, really putting emotion into the reading but be forewarned, there are a couple of words she repeatedly mispronounces and it may grate on your nerves the way it did on mine.

Another one?

So we are to receive another story. This book wasn't as captivating as the first. Hopefully it will pick up to the level of book one. I found Kerry annoying in this story.
