Out of genre a bit

I was expecting a mystery series in the vein of Tony Hillerman’s tribal police procedurals. I finished the first and half of the second volume before the metaphysical histrionics began to bore me.

Original!

Likable characters and original story line from a unique perspective. Magical with a fresh twist.

Good Purchase

I purchased this set on chance. The ratings were good and bad but overall it seems like a series for me. I was not disappointed. Very entertaining. I didn't want to put it down. Moving on to book 4.

Traditions

I'm always interested in traditions, different beliefs and superstition. This series covered that. if would have liked to see Joey developed more. overall I would recommend the book.

first story was good, then...

The first story was good with some insight into the native American culture. I couldn't get into the second part, too wierd, and I wasn't inspired to go to the third. DNF.

Great emotion and mystery

Interesting story that keeps you attentive. Insight into Diné stories and beliefs. Let them tell their stories. More than worth your time.

I keep hoping for some direction in this story

Slogging through the 3rd book, but going nowhere.1st book was interesting. Quitting with 5 hrs left in 3rd book. Saving for when I have insomnia.

Want a great story with amazing narration that will whisk you away and make you feel like your there. The smells, the sights, the sounds!!! The authors writing of a great characters and scenes are brought to life by great narration.
