Great Vampire Romance

The story is interesting and keeps you hooked all the way to the conclusion. I enjoyed the characters and unique storyline.

The narrator did a fairly good job bringing the story to life.

This is a sweet paranormal romance with some steamy moments between the vampire prince and Alice. I enjoyed the HEA conclusion and what a great vampire Chris is. His brother in the other hand is horrible!

This is a great start to a new vampire series! I'm glad that it did not end in a cliffhanger. I'm looking forward to reading more books from this series.

Nope, nope, nope! Nope to it all. The narrator and story were horrible and that’s saying a lot coming from me.

Good Idea...

This is my first review of AJ Tipton’s work. To be honest, I’d like to listen to more because I don’t believe one book reflects an author’s talent. I was impressed with the story but not so much the characters. First there’s instant love. I like to see some chase and hesitation before undying devotion. Then there’s the centuries of unbroken sire bonds that Alice overcomes. The story develops smoothly into a war for power and all in all it’s an enjoyable listen.

Audrey Lusk isn’t one of my favorite narrators because she tends to over dramatize some of the voices. She always does an adequate job and it’s the same here. Nothing too irritating but not stellar, either.

👋 Waving Hand for a Good Try.

2 of the 3 hours were okay

I almost gave up on this one a few times. After an hour or so, It finally picked up a bit and I made it through. Although there's quite a bit of cheese, I ended up enjoying the story. The narration is a little over the top, a little too dramatic for my tastes, but it doesn't detract from the story. Overall, just okay, I don't think I will pick up the next in the series. I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

1st In Series

I would have liked a longer book. Due to its length the characters are underdeveloped and some of the scenes rushed (no spoilers here). The narrator does a decent job, although a tad overdramatic at points for me. Overall I enjoyed the story and the concept of the sire bond was a unique and interesting one. I am interested to see what Book 2 has to offer.

struggled to finish

The narrator was painful. I tried to get into the story but the narrator was so whiney and made the main character seem really meek and almost pitiable. Honestly, I didn't get far into the story but the author probably meant for this to be numerous and could be quite fun if the character was given a different voice

Medieval thread woven into modern vampire romance

AJ Tipton has created a new vampire world with slightly different rules. These vampires can compel their sirelings making the relationship between creator and creation far more complex. Christopher, a vampire prince, and Alice, a human struggling photographer, experience instant attraction. Christopher recognises fabulous vampiric potential in Alice but is unsure of what to do. He wants to change her because of her potential but on principal, as her sire, he will be giving up any chance of a relationship because he doesn't want complete control of his lover. Throw all of that into a political situation where the current vampire king has suddenly died and one of his sirelings is claiming the thrown rightfully meant for Christophers. Drama! Drama! Drama!

The story has a lot of interesting characters. The coronation of the new king marks the initial incident to define further books in the series. AJ Tipton has provided a good introduction to this world, though this is not the best vampire romance I have ever read/listened to.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
